Some of my friends know I like Dragonball. I just tried to show one of them "Movie 5: Cooler's Revenge" about 30 minutes ago, but he just got up and walked out after 10 minutes in, he couldn't stick it. I think because there wasn't any action yet. I'd considered skipping forward before he left, but I thought the best way to show him Dragonball was to show him it as a whole, not just the fighting. But maybe I'm wrong.

Perhaps the most exciting thing about getting someone into Dragonball/Z these days is that you can show them the series in it's intended order completely unspoiled. I'd reckon that most of us knew all about Super Saiyans and stuff by the time they actually showed up in the series. Imagine watching Dragonball without knowing about Goku's origins. I'd do anything to be able to experience that.

I had that experience. My lack of knowledge of the internet and anime in general, along with having no friends interested in Dragonball meant that the only exposure I had to the series was the episodes themselves. So, for example, I didn't know what a Super Saiyan was until Goku first transformed. Nor did I know anything about SSJ2 or SSJ3 until the were shown in the series. I literally had no idea what was going to happen.

Exactly. For my friend wanting to start watching the show more, his timing couldn't have been any better, since I've just recently finished my DVD collection. He thanks God for the subtitles, though.

I believe the easiest way to get someone hooked on DragonBall is through the videogames. My friends were all about Budokai 3 when I showed them the game and one friend in particular would always use Vegeta and then one day came to me and said, " I want to know more about his character." From then on, it's like he's one of us. My friends call it the BallZ Disease.
