It's hard to believe Roshi and Baba are siblings, it's like it was written into the plot and then things just moved on from there.
But seriously, I wonder whether they are close enough and how much they care for each other. People do lead different lives but if they still keep in touch it should be fine.

A true hero goes beyond not the limits of power, but the limits that divide countries and people.

I mean, it's not THAT shocking. It only comes off that way to people who treat Dragon Ball as an optional comedic prequel. In which case, half of everything they learn about DB characters becomes a shocking Top 10 clickbait list.
DID YOU KNOW? Little Known Facts About The Dragon Ball Z Cast!!
- Krillin is a monk!
- Piccolo had a dad named King Piccolo!
- Yamcha and Puar used to be desert bandits!
- Goku learned the Kamehameha from Roshi!
- Master Roshi and Fortuneteller Baba are siblings!
No joke, I've seen someone do that unironically

I'm pretty sure that at least 99.99% of DB's story is just written into the plot and that all things simply move on from there.
Is Goku a monkey boy who is actually among the last remaining alien warriors from a planet ruled by a horned lizard-dwarf that takes orders from a purple cat-God who is put into position by an omnipotent child that looks like Stewie Griffin in blue & violet face paint? Um...Sure?

What's strange is just how ridiculously much older than Roshi Baba is. We're talking literal centuries (according to the Daizenshuu)! Who are their parents!? I mean, Roshi and Baba clearly don't die from old age, so it's not weird that their parents could be like that too, but they do still grow old, so when their parents had Roshi...

Of course, Toriyama probably doesn't care about this kind of logical oddity at all. It's just supposed to be funny. And also the Daizenshuu timeline doesn't necessarily have to be accurate I guess.
Probably Kanzenshuu's biggest Bulla fangirl. Current avatar: DBU Bulla as Sailor Princess Sadala, based on Sailor Moon: Cosmic Dance
