Burst Limit Character Support- Gohan

Post by Ryu-Ken Bakuhatsu » Mon Apr 21, 2008 2:18 pm

I think for Gohan's character support Piccolo should come in and protect Gohan (Like in Saiyan saga)

watch the video if your not sure what I mean. Even if you do, watch it anyway 'cause its awesome! :)

-Edit- (June 13th)

Now that I have managed to use all of Gohan's drama pieces in the Gohan Vs Nappa fight during the story mode- it turns out that Piccolo can save Gohan in this style during Drama Pieces. Go me! :)

I was thinking this also but they will probably just have that as a story element. Gohan will still have Piccolo as a drama piece but I'm thinking it will be more of a deflection than actually taking the blast.

Well if it is a story element I hope the Japanese BGM that plays just as Piccolo dies is featured.

I agree that it probably be a deflection. From clips I've seen its just Generic motion for all characters.

There are 200 confirmed Drama Pieces and i think every character gets a couple of them that are unique to them.

Oh good. It be a bit lame this day and age if it was all the same. I wonder about the Artifical Humans maybe #20 would save #19 (or vice-versa) by absorbing ki... But it be kinda pointless since #19 can absorb ki him/itself.
Be interesting to see what happens there though.

My net is too slow to watch that video right now, so may I ask what exactly a "support character" is/does?

If certain requirments are met a character will come in a cutscene and do something such as deflect a super move or something for you.

I'm almost certain it will be in there. So I guess support characters are the new capsules/potara?

It would appear so, but you can choose which Ultimate you want to use as all characters have 2-3 Ultimates each. This could imply there are Drama pieces AND Capsules.

Hopefully there'll be more capsule spaces then on the orignal Budokai's. The space given always seemed to small.

It gave it more of a strategic feel to it if you ask me, you had to choose wisely what fit your style of play.

Yeah I agree when it comes to that but I remember on Budokai 1 I was customising Goku so that he'd be incredibly strong about 225%. I used all the Kaio Ken's and some the attack booster items. He was amazingly strong only trouble was he had no attacks and I had to relie on punch and kick combos.

The one thing that I've alsways wanted was for the games to reflect more of the series with the ability to encrease the maximum number of item slots.

On very hard mode it was extremely difficult to pick up a win with this capsule collection so I had to "power down" Goku and gave him a 'normal' moveset

Yeah building it up throughout time gaining more power and slots would be good. Super DBZ's Inheritance of techniques would be a good feature too.

I always just boosted the super moves and some of the other attacks at the sacrifice of a few transformations (who needs to go all the way to SSJ4, anyway?)

The only moves I never boost are those chance wins (when you hit the buttons and hope you match the opponent's) because it was never reliable. I never try to start those because I always end up losing.

What I found out is that sometimes if the COM. did the "Dragon Rush Attack" and I lost, the second time round they would try the same button combo again. Or I would just enter the COMs previous combo in, and hope for the best. However it's 50/50. The COM. could do a completely different combo second time round.
