Goten contributed as much to fights in GT as the rest of the supporting cast.
0%.
This is true, but like you said, it applied to everyone not named Goku, even Vegeta after reaching Ssj4. With that said though, Goten and Trunks are at least their own characters who do their own thing and fight their separate battles. That's not something you can say about their Super counterpart, as they're just there for fusion, which itself isn't used anymore (Gotenks I mean).
All official versions of Goten don't do much post-Buu saga. It doesn't seem like there's a whole lot to do with him because he's also usually a supporting character in fanfiction who helps out in some fights. DBO Goten and Trunks opened a sword school which might be their biggest contribution.

You could say the same about big portion of DB/Z supporting cast you know?
Also Goten and others defeated all of invaders from hell in Super 17 saga. Even though most of it was offscreen, you can't say they did nothing. The only complain i have for supporting cast is their lack of absence in Shadow Dragons arc. Instead of Goku and Pan fighting all of the dragons they could've left at least the weaker ones to side characters and then make everyone join Goku during final fight. They could even make Goku go alone to fight stronger dragons and make Pan either fight one dragon on her own or fight alongside Trunks or Gohan.

"actively contributes to battlers", Thats the joke right there.
That's not a joke. He was helping in battles against all main villains. And yeah, it's better than doing nothing. Even being trashed by Super 17 was enough as it bought time until Goku arrived. Goten isn't a warrior obviously and unlike Gohan, no one really expected him to be, but he still tried and was doing his best to help. Not to mention actually doing well against Baby and that was his first and probably only own fight against a main villain without fusing.
So his best moments in GT is being a punching bag? how is that better then doing nothing? atleast doing nothing doesn't make you look bad.

Vegeta in Gohan vs Cell final clash (anime only)?
Vegeta in first Broly movie?
Also, what exactly did you expect? Goten being able to compete against Super 17? In that case, Goku would've killed him with single punch once he arrived. There are no side villains in GT for side characters after the first arc. The only way they could change that would be making Super 17 much weaker and not letting Goku fight him at all. But in this case, it would be better to let Vegeta beat Super 17 as he is a warrior. Goten is not.
And no, his best moments are not being a punching bag. His best moments is character development he got including being a character on his own for the first and, after seeing Super, probably last time. With his low impact on series they somehow managed to give him a personality and make him being liked by fans without being the "cute kid Goku clone" he always was.

What i mean by doing nothing is that the creators don't have the characters show up just to get a beatdown, it happend to Vegeta in all of the old movies and GT, if your only going to use a character as a punching bag, then don't use them at all.
I expect all characters to not just get a beatdown and then goku comes and saves everyone, what's the point? why have other characters fight when you know they are not gonna give the villain a challenge and just lose so the main character can come and save them all?
GT is a show were you have to only care about Goku to enjoy.

Well, but how is it different from pretty big portion of DB/Z in main fights? What you just described is 100% Saiyan saga and majority of Cell saga and pretty much Namek saga since Goku's arrival. It was all about waiting for Goku. It was also the same in King Piccolo saga.

they put up a good fight, some of the characters was stronger then Goku( Gohan, Vegeta, Piccolo, Gotenks and Master Roshi) and Goku lost fights.
But let's just agree to disagree, This is a thread of interesting and funny pictures after all .

Thats one thing I never got. He had one girlfriend, i dont know where people got he was such a player from.
He was confirmed to be dating someone at the end of Z as well, but considering GT takes place 5 years after that it can't be Valese as they didn't seem to know each other so well. But we can be sure he had at least two girls in his life.
Trunks was very popular among girls though, as seen when he was walking through Capsule Corp. but we never saw him dating anyone in GT. Oh and he is also popular among boys it seems, remember the funny guy from end of Z lol. He also appeared in GT, worth to mention.

Dragon Ball Heroes Ultimate Mission X Xeno Goten sends his regards. Actually the Xeno Goten from that game is Goten at his best. Useful, powerful, contributes, appears, is his own character...

Okay, so I can talk about the equally-worthless Freeza soldiers and 17's island the same way, right?

To be honest I didn't know much about Xeno Goten and Trunks. I just thought they formed a more serious Gotenks but that's good if he contributed more on his own!

Overall, Xeno Goten doesn't do much aside from being there to fuse or to get a few fights. But in that 3DS game, he actually got a lot of screentime and everything positive that comes with it. I can't recommend it enough to all Goten fans (but bear in mind you should bring someone who can translate stuff if you can't read Japanese).

As a Goten fan myself I really should check out that game if there's ever a fan patch.
