Otakon -- FUNimation Finally Arrives!

Post by VegettoEX » Sun Jun 27, 2004 11:09 am

In looking through Otakon's site this morning (mostly due to the shock of FUCKIN' L'ARC~EN~CIEL IS PLAYING)...

I noticed some FUNimation people will be there! Chris Sabat and John Burgmeier are going as guests. Now, I've never talked to Burgmeier before, but Sabat and I had a history a few years back. I'm definitely going to introduce myself to the guy, but it'll be interesting if he still remembers all that shit from a few years back :P. Be nice to finally meet the guy I talked so much shit to.

Neat stuff.

L`ARC~EN~CIEL.

Um, Justin Cook and Chuck Huber were there last year promoting YYH. I waited in line about 20min to get their autographs on a pretty nice looking YYH poster.

That's right... forgot Cook was there...

Didn't realize Chuck Huber was there, too. Neat stuff. OK, so I'm a moron. It's usually just Faulconer in the dealer's room going "PLEASE BUY MY CDS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD."

Yeah, hah, I remember that last year. I walked by his booth, not planning to look through it, and he practically glomped on me and dragged me along explaining the Android CD. I was like, what the hell is this crap?? The Android 18 techno remix 3rd edition whatever, was just plain fugly. I think my ears were bleeding after I walked past it.

Sounds like he's a wannabe LION. Not the animal, the synthesizer.

I'd really like to ask Sabat some questions, but only several years in the future when he's no longer working for FUNi, when DBZ is a distant memory. Mainly, I want to know if there's anything FUNi has done that has really annoyed him, and has he tried to fight against any of it. And what does he really think of "Step into the Grand Tour"...

Yeah, if I remember correctly, his booth is usualy one of the first ones closest to the entrance of the dealers room. EX how long are you gonna be there? Are we having any kind of MB meet up?

I'll be there starting Thursday night all the way through Sunday. MB meet-up? I doubt it. Dunno how many people are going from here... probably very, very few.

I'm sure I'll be doing primarily AMV related activities/parties... ^^;;

Always have time to meet up with other people, though.

It's more sad that you're planning on wearing the same shirt two days running. Especially at an anime convention, which will surely have lots of smelly people present.

What's a forehead protector, anyway?

Thursday night you can pick up your pre-reg badges early. The line is long, but it's not as ridiculous as Friday's line/wait. Also, all the AMV peeps get together for a huge-ass dinner Thursday evening, as well, after we all get our badges.

Nah, it's not lame to pick out your outfits ahead of time. Heh. Everyone does it, even if they try not to. I actually just got a bunch of new shirts on clearance from Drive-Thru, so I'll be sportin' some new clothes, yay!

Well, I should hopefully be going to the con.. I'll look out for Mike and any of y'all who're actually going. <_< I plan on being around atleast long enough to watch the L'Arc~en~Ciel concert (and to think, a couple months ago I didn't even know who they were..), and hide from Bruce Faulconer.

And terriorize anyone I find.

Wonder if I can pull together a cosplay outfit.

A couple weeks ago I didn't know who they were... but that just makes me sad that I can't go. :(
