After last night, I can agree with what he said, partially. While I'm still a dub fan over the Japanese original, I can see why both versions are good. The dub version had some decent music, and it holds all of my fondest memories, so far. The original, however, presents the characters in the way I always looked at em in. When watching episodes 93-97 in Japanese last night, I noticed that the original SS Goku seems far more aggressive than the dub SS Goku. That was something I always wanted to see.
So, yeah, thanks to the advice given back a couple pages ago, I'm officially both a dub and sub fan, and I must say, it's a damn good thing.

I personally enjoy both versions. I tend to prefer the dub but by no means hate the original. I simply like them for different reasons. To me, each one has things about it that I like.
For the dub, I must admit i'm partial to voices. I have heard the Japanese voices and watched several episodes and movies in the Japanese. I like it fine that way and can most assuredly appreciate the talent in those voices but I have grown accustomed to the English and thus, tend to prefer it. I know a lot of people disagree with me but I find the English voices to be appropriate and fitting in their own right.
Now, Japanese I love the musical score. There are only a few instances of the dub where the music stands out to me, namely the music within the Room of Spirit and Time and I actually don't mind the English version of "Romantikku Ageru Yo" However, the Japanese songs I find to be much more fitting for the most part and so, now that there is an option of English dub with original music, I tend to be using it more.
I love characters in both versions. I can see the changes they made when they dubbed it but overall, they don't bother me because, like the voices, it is what I've grown accustomed to and come to love. In some instances, they are very different but I can say that I love Original Goku just as much as I love Dub Goku. Original Goku is awesome in a battle and I find Dub Goku to be endearing, especially in those scenes with his children.
So, while I prefer the dub for the most part, I can appreciate (and enjoy watching) them both.

I know I'm coming in late on this one...
I'll just say that the reason I watch in Japanese is because I watch Dragon Ball as an anime. The english adaptations are not simply dubbed (like, say, Cowboy Bebop) and are more heavily localized (like, say, Sailor Moon- though not nearly that extreme). FUNi made DBZ as American as possible. But by the time they came back with S3 and on I had mostly outgrown the average American cartoon. So while I watched the dub (I didn't even own a DVD player back then), when I had finished and gained access to the Japanese version, I tend to stick with it. As goofy as it can be, it just overall feels more badass and epic to me. Like was just pointed out about Goku's early SSJ agression as opposed to his US super hero portrayal, or early Z Piccolo acting like the villain of two previous sagas and not like a misunderstood anti-hero right from the start.
And I really just don't like the music. For a bit of background, music is pretty important to my enjoyment of a show/movie/game/etc. I didn't care about the Levy score back when Saban was around. It was just...there. Not my draw to the show, but didn't turn me away. With the in-house dub, I really really really hated 90% of the BGM. I didn't start to appreciate music in Dragon Ball until a friend brought over some bootlegs of some of the movies (which also had Vegeta vs 19 at the end of the tape, my first Japanese episode).
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

With voices, it depends. I definately prefer Mr. Sabat's Mr. Popo over his Japanese voice. Not too fond of how he looks (obviously) but his goofy, yet wise voice makes him sort of tolerable. But for the most part, post-Garlic Jr. Saga, I don't rate them so much, but respect how they personalized their roles once, they found their characters.
