Re: Wow. The GT OST.
Indeed, it definitely feels different in sound from Kikuchi's DB and Z tracks which lean more a classic martial arts/wuxia type vibe and with that said i feel Tokunaga's OST was a good score for GT and it's adventure based angle especially with the first arc though still good and fitting beyond that. The four ending songs are my favorites but "Don't You See" and "Sabitsuita Machine Gun" in particular are some great tracks with their trending toward a more pop or rock based direction, and as such really makes it stand as a worthy successor.
DB collection related goals as of now:
1.) Find decent priced copy of Dragon Box Z Vol. 4 (Done)
2.) Collect rest of manga
3.) Get rest of Daizenshuu (2-7)

Indeed. And the characters feel so weak. But that's another topic.Goten_jr wrote: Sat Aug 08, 2020 5:26 pm One thing I don’t understand about GT is why are the Fights so much slower than all other Fights in DB History even Heroes and the Lack of Hand to Hand combat

I really like the music in the Bebi saga. I'm not sure exactly which one it is, but the "mystic" feeling music.jamiljamtheman wrote: Fri Aug 07, 2020 8:17 pm I listened to the Japanese GT OST as standalone music for maybe the first time today. First of all, it’s incredible. But that’s a given and it’s why I chose to listen to it in the first place. I knew from what I’d heard.
But it’s also fascinating to me in a different way. The majority of the songs strongly evoke the feeling of a sweeping fantasy epic adventure. Never while listening did I think “this strongly fits with sci fi ki powered battling”. It’s like the whole soundtrack is meant to fit the black star dragon ball arc—the titular Grand Tour. Not that the pieces used in the later arcs don’t work—they definitely do, when watching the show. But when listening to the music by itself, it didn’t feel like it should.

Re: Wow. The GT OST.
That's more than likely due to the fact that of all the tracks that have ever been ripped, the nep is one of the hardest to do, as it's exclusive to the Japanese version (GT rips are made using the 5.1 Green bricks audio, which doesn't have neps). You can find versions of it online but they have voices blended in with it. I've actually tried to rip it myself and you can have my version if you want, though its not perfect.HakkaiBills93 wrote: Thu Sep 03, 2020 6:27 am some "dan dan" variations sound very nice but the one i really regret not being able to find as bgm is the next episode preview theme

No problem. I was thinking of making a better version as well at some point as I believe I found a method to do so, might post it on here somewhere if I ever get it to work.HakkaiBills93 wrote: Thu Sep 03, 2020 2:34 pm i planned to also try using all stereo nep and by using several vocal isolation method and get "bgm gasp" when i'll have time but thanks for your attempt, the one you made using broadcast is the best attempt i have seen online, recreation using wrong stuffs don't really interest me but thanks

Welp. I guess I was right. Had a go at actually making a clean rip of the nep and it turned out pretty well. Probably the best rip of it currently online in my opinion.
Here it is for those that want it (the method to make it is in the description): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMbxEr8wQN8

Re: Wow. The GT OST.
The program I use is called ISSE, which allows you to directly separate vocals from the music manually (here's an idea of what I mean: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kz3bfxmqA-s). I had a look at the program you suggested and it acts much differently to this. I actually used something similar to it already, a site called acapella-extractor.com, and then edited the result in ISSE. I've never seen a program that separates lossless audio into so many different parts as Spleeter does though, so I'll probably be using it in the future so thank you for suggesting it. It should be easier to separate it in ISSE now that the instruments and vocals are split up. Here's a quick little edit I did of it in ISSE: https://mega.nz/file/3dhm1KLI#sn5Zr8Lf0 ... 3lbvypBsxw Some areas sound better than in my attempt, so I'll play around with it and see what I can do with it.HakkaiBills93 wrote: Tue Sep 08, 2020 10:51 am nice, not perfect but better than what i was expected, did you use spleeter too, it also work for vocal isolation using ai? here a gui if you want to try https://makenweb.com/#spleetergui

Re: Wow. The GT OST.
Things is also that it seems that bgm volume lower each time someone talk usually, i noticed it while i was doing dragon quest screen title card bgm , bgm are louder when there is no vocals but lower when someone talk, so if you cancel vocals you also have to normalize all the bgm , when it talk too louder making the bgm impossible to hear it the result is awfull , of course it can't guess what can already be listenedUnderscore_Johny wrote: Tue Sep 08, 2020 1:19 pmThe program I use is called ISSE, which allows you to directly separate vocals from the music manually (here's an idea of what I mean: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kz3bfxmqA-s). Re: Wow. The GT OST.
So you want it to be louder is that what you're saying? The problem with that is that all of the GT neps are like that, it's just a problem that comes with ripping unreleased music unfortunately. Some of the other GT tracks also have this issue. And I don't want to damage it by making it louder in some parts when we don't know what the original is supposed to sound like. The version I'm using seems to be the most consistent in terms of how loud it is across the whole track (I tested the other ones). Better to just leave it as it is I think. I make sure that the the audio is untouched when I remove the vocals anyway. You can always just make it louder yourself.HakkaiBills93 wrote: Wed Sep 09, 2020 2:13 am Things is also that it seems that bgm volume lower each time someone talk usually, i noticed it while i was doing dragon quest screen title card bgm , bgm are louder when there is no vocals but lower when someone talk, so if you cancel vocals you also have to normalize all the bgm , when it talk too louder making the bgm impossible to hear it the result is awfull , of course it can't guess what can already be listened
Also my second attempt is going quite well thanks to Spleeter. Thanks for that.

Re: Wow. The GT OST.
Nooo you didn't understood, i didn't ask you in any way to change anything, i just noticed generally that each time we use separator , the result have a volume lowering each time there was vocals and that's mostly cause bgm are lower in volume when it talk , also that when it talk too loud, bgm can't be hear so no software can recover something you cannot listen even with vocalsUnderscore_Johny wrote: Wed Sep 09, 2020 10:53 amSo you want it to be louder is that what you're saying? Re: Wow. The GT OST.
Ok I think I get your saying. I haven't noticed any volume change after I ran it through Spleeter or ISSE, so I think my version is untouched. I'm actually using the version that I linked In my third post before this one, which has most of the vocals already removed so if there was any volume lossless as you said it would be minimal as there aren't enough vocals to cause it to decrease. I'm also opening up each individual stem in ISSE and manually separating the music from the vocals anyway so it's not losing any of the quality.HakkaiBills93 wrote: Wed Sep 09, 2020 12:10 pm Nooo you didn't understood, i didn't ask you in any way to change anything, i just noticed generally that each time we use separator , the result have a volume lowering each time there was vocals and that's mostly cause bgm are lower in volume when it talk , also that when it talk too loud, bgm can't be hear so no software can recover something you cannot listen even with vocals

The GT nep is now done! Almost 100% of the vocals are now removed. This is the last time I'm doing this as I don't think my head can handle much more of this kind of editing, for a while at least.

Thanks. It's a shame that this is the length that people have to go through just to listen to this soundtrack. If only the score could be released in full someday, for now we can only hope.HakkaiBills93 wrote: Sat Sep 12, 2020 10:03 am it's a little better yeah, congrats hope that one day a perfect version will be done or released
