The original cases may have been damaged, so whoever just replaced them. I don't use Ebay so I could be completely wrong and these are fake.

These use artwork taken from the Dragon Boxes and singles cases, i wouldn't be surprised if they turn out to be burned DVD rips of the Dragon Box masters for all three series and the movies. Who knows what the quality of these are, but it would be on single layer discs so i'd say the video is possibly quite compressed. Or maybe they're actually decent looking bootlegs. It all ultimately depends on the person making them and if they are someone who has knowledge and capability of good encoding and storage capacity on the above type of disc.
DB collection related goals as of now:

1.) Find decent priced copy of Dragon Box Z Vol. 4 (Done)

2.) Collect rest of manga

3.) Get rest of Daizenshuu (2-7)

I almost bought them out of curiosity but decided to not take the risk (I'm collecting the Japanese Singles)

Yesterday I ordered this complete DBZ Kai DVD set off of Amazon but now I'm having my doubts about it being legit because of the cheap price. I've tried to cancel it but Amazon won't let me as they are preparing it to be shipped out.

I really hate the " Fulfilled by Amazon." because they often try to take no responsibility even tho the item is in their warehouses. If it's bookleg I would fight tooth and nail to get a refund. Document anything that is glaringly bootleg (do you have any legit copies?) Kai seems to be a bit more harder to compare to say super (and it's dining room door barcode window on the slip)

I actually watched that video before making this post. Hell that video was the one that made me skeptical about this purchase.

From the full sets I've seen, the whole thing is shrink wrapped together. I know the Super Bootleg DVDs (had those) were shrinked wrapped over the slip cover which is a huge red flag. If you can spot them being bootleg without opening them you might have a better shot at returning them. Keep us updated

Edit: Ok, I found another lot thats individally wrapped but has the same huge barcode window the super DVDs had. That should be your instant notification that they're bootleg

Thanks for the post. May I know where you got that picture from? Was it from Ebay?

Correct, it seems a lot of auctions arent posting the back now so they must be aware of it. If anyone has legit DVDs and provide a photo of thier back for 100% confirmation, I'd greatly appreciate it :D

It really is. The first red flag was how many sets the seller sold (it was around 29) and the fact the Final Chapters barcode windows are huge like the bootleg Super DVDs. I litterly spent an hour trying to find photos of "legit" releases but all I could find were pictures from ebay lots and it really highlights how, as of recent, the bootlegging of DB has really gotten out of hand.

Yup yup. I've been browsing through the Ebay listings and some of these sellers have over 50 copies of the whole series and are selling them at a low price. The same thing is also happening with the Blue Bricks and the Season Set Blu-Rays as well.

Just recieved the sets and they're definitely bootleg. I could intently tell as the The Final chapters sets have the same DVD case as the DBZ Kai season sets. Gonna return them asap to get my money back.

Since it was fulfilled by Amazon hopefully I won't have too much trouble getting my money back.

Your best bet nowadays would be to see if anyone on Kanzenshuu has any copies to sell since you're many times more likely to find honest sellers. There is that buy/sell/trade thread you can find.
