Who do you think is the most overrated?

If you ask me i would say Goku.

Oh man I hate those Goku fanboys.

Purely overrated? The one I hear too much about is Trunks. Mirai is an amazing character, but he is not OMG HOTTEST THING EVAH WILL MARRY ME.

.........You're kidding, right? Goku is the main character of the ENTIRE series, and one of the most beloved characters of alltime. I see no overrating whatsoever with him.

......Ok, maybe a tiny bit with the whole "Super Saiyan 4" thing.

Anyways, again, I have to go with Vegeta. He's extremely overrated in the fandom. His whole character is based around one thing: His mammoth ego. For me, you have to have more character depth than that.

Another one that is a bit overrated, and I know Meri will hate me for this one, is Future Trunks. He's awesome, no doubt, but he's just so overdone in the fandom, in so many (incredibly strange, at times) ways. That doesn't exactly take away from his coolness, since he has great character depth, but it is a little annoying seeing him everywhere.

Goku is the most overrated in fandom for me.
Anyways that´s why Gohan did not kill Buu because of the damn goku fanboys.

Vegeta=Best character on DBZ. Mammoth Ego? fine how about Goku´s
Good-Guy-Kills-Bad-Guys nearly every time.

Now that´s annoying.

Saying that Goku is overrated in Dragonball is like saying that Superman is overrated in Action Comics or Batman is overrated in Detective Comics.

I'll back up Saiyavenger2941 here and say Vegeta. I remember back in high school kids going on and on about him for looking cool, even though he was generally not doing anything productive and usually hurting the process.

Vegeta spends most of the series overcompensating for his failures. He gets his ass kicked as much as he kicks ass (if not moreso). Yet people think he's awesome. The average Vegeta fan will watch movie 8 and talk about how awesome it was when he declared his superiority and rushed Broli, typically ignoring two things. 1- He did absolutely nothing to Broli and was taken out with one blow for the remainder of the fight (everyone else showed more stamina) and 2- He spent the rest of the fight whining like a bitch. I tend to sum him up in that film with "Piccolo drags him by his neck, calls him pathetic, and drops him in a ditch, and "the man" responds to the insult by whining some more about his inferiority."

Unlike Vegeta, I actually love future Trunks. He and future Gohan are probably my favorite Saiyans. But Trunks is overrated too. I dunno if it was like this in Japan, he but he was seriously hyped in the US (shit, they gave him his own saga in the dub). He's cool and all, but in the grand scheme of the series... he's really just a supporting character in one story arc, and from an alternate reality to the main one.

No Vegeta's overrated in the fandom, when was the last time you heard people complain that Goku didn't beat the villain enough times? Why did people get tired of him.

In who has the most fanboys for me is Goku, dont you know that Akira wanted to kill off Goku to make Gohan the hero at the end of DBZ but he could not do that because Goku fanboys were sending him hate messages and saying that if he killed off goku he would be killed.

I am a average Vegeta fan and when I watch movie 8 I don´t say how awesome he was.

Woo, I have heard tons of people complaining about Goku killing nearly every single damn villain.

Many people were tired of Goku killing-bad-guys everytime.

I mean Vegeta did not even get to kill a Important villain.

No offense, vic, but I don't know you from a hole in the wall. So my statement was a general one based on my past experiences in the fandom (r/l and online). It was in no way an insult directed at you.

I think we're getting a little carried away here and over-exagerrating. No where is there proof fans were sending Toriyama hate messages, so let's just stop trying to spread that little belief around like it's fact shall we? It's always just been stated that fans weren't happy.

Secondly, I think that with every post you make in this thread, you're continuing to prove more and more that Vegeta fanboys are the worst out there. >>

You know, I'm one of the biggest Gohan fans around, and yeah, I was a little miffed that Goku got the spotlight in the end.

BUT!

Dragonball is Goku's stage. As much as I would've loved to have seen Gohan beat Buu at the end, (and kiss Videl when he made his triumphant return) I was just as happy to have seen Goku get the final blow. As the last fight in the series, it's only right to have Goku finish it off.

As for Vegeta, he's either whining or needlessly gloating. Like I said, no character depth AT ALL. It makes me wonder why I liked him at first. (Other than his resemblance to Kazuya Mishima from Tekken.)
