Vegetto or Gogeta?

Now that I've actually found the quote I've changed my position on the subject.

Elder Kai said "It [Potara] is even better than fusion." Judging from this sentence it is unclear if he meant Potara fusions are stronger, or if they're just better because there's no risk of making a mistake in the dance and there's no time limit. However, things don't end here.

Kibito-Kai: "He's strong [refering to Vegito]! Buu can't do a thing to him! I didn't know the Potara would make them this strong."
Old Kai: "Dope, they're powerful because they fused, and they're two of the strongest fighters in the Universe! And since they're rivals, they're even stronger!"

I think it's quite obvious Old Kai said Vegito is not strong because he is the result of a Potara fusion, simply that he is strong because he is the result of a fusion. And a fusion between two rivals (again he does not refer to Potara exclusively), which makes them even stronger.

It's just as vague in Japanese. He's saying, "It's more effective than [the regular] Fusion," or something to that effect.

Yeah, but he just wouldn't know what would happen. Gogeta would move his arm, and then Vegetto would just explode at anytime Gogeta chooses.

Gogeta and Vegetto have the same pool of knowledge. They basically have the exact same brain, same skillset, same knowledge... the only differences are the mechanics of their fusion and possibly slight personality quirks (perhaps due to different aspects of Goku and Vegeta taking dominance). So it would be ridiculously hard for either one of them to surprise the other. Against any other opponent, the fused fighters blending of two different styles would be unpredictable. But in this case, they are literally an even match.

I think I would choose the first scenario since Potaras seem to be in abundance and you can fuse with ANYONE no matter what size/power level they are. Thus, Metamorphian Fusion must be more powerful since both users must synchronize their power levels and be similar in size. The Fusion Dance also takes practice, because if done wrong you can screw yourself over and fuse into a demented, weaker form.

I wouldn't say that personally, if only because Potara was created by the Kaioshin and is more complete. I don't think it is a trade-off, because the development of the two had nothing to do with each other.

Think of it like Kaioshin's teleportation (Kai Kai I belive) compared to Goku's (Shunkan Idou/Instant Transmission). Goku learned his from other mortals. Kaioshin's is functionally better, lacking the need to lock onto a specific ki source. However, within the Shunkan Idou's limitation, it works just as well as the Kai Kai. You wouldn't call either more powerful, but Kaioshin's is more versatile.

Oh, on the videogame suggestion, I'm pretty sure the games usually give Vegetto slightly higher stats. At least, I'm almost positive B3 did. I wouldn't go by games for too much though. Technically you could leave Gogeta standing around in training mode for a day without defusion. I think they make Vegetto stronger in order to set a midpoint between "Super Gogeta" and SSJ4 Gogeta (the strongest character in any game he shows up in).

I think the strongest is Vegeth-Vegetto-Vegito-Vegekou.
But Gogeta has a better design in my opinion !

Heh, in a style contest, Vegetto has Gogeta beat, hands down! He does lose some style points, somehow, when he goes Super, which is kinda unexplainable.

I like Vegetto's style better, the reverse Goku gi with Vegeta's boots and gloves is classic. Now, if only they had actually went past SSJ that would have been awesome, albeit a little bit of an overkill

Well that still proves nothing, you havent given any sources or proof to your logic. Even if Vegetto is stronger than Gogeta, it's still so close it's like splitting hairs. So if your speaking specifically, yes Vegetto is in theory stronger than Gogeta, but if your speaking generally then they are equal. They are both such juggernauts that the only time the power factor would come into play is if they were to fight eachother.
