This new "technique" reminds me of Goku's ability to randomly read Krillin's mind on Namek, the only difference is that it wasn't the key to winning the final fight of the arc.Alruneia wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 11:55 am Okay, I'm going to have to try my very hardest not to judge the chapter prematurely based on these few leaked images... because ughhhh. This is so goddamn out of left field that I can't help but actually like this, hell if we're gonna be going down this route I hope the manga gets even crazier in the future.

Fused Zamasu did it first:
Spoiler:
Akira Toriyama, DBS vol.4 joint interview with ToyotaroAt his core Zamasu is good like Shin, though I guess you could say he was so fastidious that it backfired. But you know, for this "Future Trunks Arc" you had to depict Zamasu and Trunks' inner conflict, right? If this was back when I was drawing the manga myself then I doubt if I could have done it. I mean, I'm not very good at depicting the characters' psychology on the page. So this all came together because now I only have to think up the story. [...] On my own, I doubt I would have been able to express Zamasu's fall to the dark side.

I can't help but wonder if GT's writers are telling one another "we had to wait 23 years, but now we know for sure that our show was better off without Toriyama".OrangeBanana wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 12:02 pm This is so goddamn out of left field that I can't help but actually like this, hell if we're gonna be going down this route I hope the manga gets even crazier in the future.

Relax! From how I see it, Goku didn't actually "physically" grew like if he had Piccolo biological ability or mastered out of his ass the Yardrat Spirit control technique. This is obviously no more that a massive Ki ball that is Goku's shaped so that he can block the massive Moro arms and have free hands to destroy the gem.Matches Malone wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 11:59 amThis new "technique" reminds me of Goku's ability to randomly read Krillin's mind on Namek, the only difference is that it wasn't the key to winning the final fight of the arc.Alruneia wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 11:55 am Okay, I'm going to have to try my very hardest not to judge the chapter prematurely based on these few leaked images... because ughhhh. It has been established in the original Manga that the protagonists can give their Ki based attack whatever the form they like.
Hence the Kienzan, the Makenkosappo and the Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack. "Giant Goku" actually seems to be just an oversized, non explosive version of this last one.

This is probably a Yardrat Technique that Goku knew but never saw the need to use it.

Trust me, I'm very relaxed. I really want to rip this chapter to shreds, but I want to (for once) wait for the full context.Kepiaschkz wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 12:16 pm Relax!

That's not it, Goku released... a mini Goku...out of his head...because...

And you'll be wise to do so because I think, in my humble opinion, you didn't analyse well the images. There ( IMHO again) isn't such a thing as a "Mini Goku". It is the true Goku in his true-sized, normal scale. He was just engulfed in the head of the huge Ki version of himself, waiting for Moro to be immobilized to rush to the gem.Matches Malone wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 12:20 pmTrust me, I'm very relaxed. Remember that Moro is giant too, so relatively speaking, the true Goku looks small.
But I agree that, out of context, theses pictures doesn't emphasizes well what Toyotaro is trying to tell.
To illustrate better what I'm saying remember the Hit/Goku battle in the Champa's arc. At the very end, Goku fire a huge Kamehameha that Hit try to stop with one hand. Then, Goku literally fly through his Kamehameha to emerge at its extremity and land a punch at Hit's face. That the same thing here, just replace the Kamehameha with a Big Kikoha Goku shaped.

I like how they're going through all this trouble to basically do what Merus died doing, break the crystal in Moro's head.
I took another look at it, and you're right. Still though, it's a very odd thing to do. How is this Goku...clone thing pushing back Moro ? is it a solid being ?Kepiaschkz wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 12:29 pmIt is the true Goku in his true-sized, normal scale. That was from the BoG movie, right? I remember that Beerus used that dragon attack once, but for some reason he never used it again, and I don't think he even has it in videogames.UpFromTheSkies wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 12:26 pmIt was done before ZamasuSupremeKai25 wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 12:03 pmFused Zamasu did it first:

Still, here's another example of a ningen imitating a God.

Fans on social media are pointing to this being a similar technique to the Uchiha's Susano from the Naruto franchise.
It was from the anime retelling.

So... Goku learned Susanoo and we are going to have Ki Kaiju battles now??? I'll admit though it does seem slightly reminiscent of Piccolo going giant mode in early dragon ball and it may not be a big of an asspull than dragon fist which has became a stable in db community.
Still seems off to me, although I do like Goku getting new abilities but I guess the question is, if we will ever see it again outside this arc.
So where do we go from Ultimate Mastered UI with kaiju mode?

It is a clone made of pure Ki. Except the shape, this is no different than a regular Ki ball which is no more than a Fireball. Plasma in real world. We saw numerous times our heroes "pushing" those things and even worse, move them as it was solid things moved by telekinesis. Again, remember the Gottenks's Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack.Matches Malone wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 12:33 pm
