Why did Kami not tell Goku that he was not from Earth?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Why did Kami not tell Goku that he was not from Earth?

As god he can probably tell this person isn't a human. He should have known about the alien space pod landing as soon as it reached Earth as well.

I might be wrong here, but didn't he also fail to know that he was an alien as well?

Here are the panels depicting Kami talking about his real identity with highlights for the key part:
Yeah, Kami wasn't made aware of his alien ancestry until Vegeta and Nappa remarked on Piccolo's unusual nature. It's odd when you think back on how Popo described Kami's upbringing as residing by himself in Yunzabit Heights after having left the vessel he was put in to make the voyage to Earth. Was he not able to remember events prior to living in the far reaches of Earth? Did his separation with the evil aspect of his being take away those pre-Earth memories? Our only other precedent for a whole being diffusing like this is Buu who seems to recall everything that occurred up until that point. Did Kami just forget over time about his origins? We know he's still capable of speaking the Namekian language.

I understand how Kami could forget his own origins because he was a baby. But when Goku landed on Earth, Kami was already god for hundreds of years and should have had his eye on things like that.

I still find it hilarious to rewatch Piccolo's EXTREMELY SHOCKED reaction when he gets told he is an alien. Like, really dude? You're supposed to be the smart one.

To be fair, he has only ever lived on the planet Earth. And it's not like Mr. Popo told him about his alien origins, either.

I don't know if he has memories or something but let's assume he doesn't. That leaves the fact that he's the only Namekian on the planet and also doesn't detect any other strong lifeforms.

Either Kami didn’t know or he simply felt it was for the best. Goku is not really one to dwell on such things. He originally thought he’d been abandoned and just laughed the idea off. Being from space would mainly make him wonder if he could go and have adventures there some day.

God likely thought it would have been for the best. I doubt he didn't see Goku's space-pod land, but considering he cut Goku's tail and restored the moon without telling him the truth about his Oozaru transformation and his grandfather's death, then he likely felt that bringing up his ancestry was likewise unnecessary.

Well, Earth in the Dragon Ball world is home to all kinds of unusual creatures that don’t exist in real life (or at least it was, before they got phased out in favor of ordinary Earthlings), so Piccolo probably just assumed he was one of them. It helps that he was also a demon.

To be fair Piccolo is only an alien in a roundabout way. He’s the reincarnation of a demon spawn that was released from the Namekian that came to earth. Technically he was born on earth twice

He probably didn't know how Goku would react to it and wanted to keep it as a sercet. Even if Radditz didn't come to Earth, Goku would probably find out from someone else.

Didn't the two Piccolos think they were demons? And there were other demons in Dragonball earth as well. kami knows that he split off P, sr.

while Kami is god, that doesn't mean he's omniscient and knows every single thing that happens. There's also the fact that just because Goku's not from earth, it doesn't really mean anything. Heck, Vegeta and Bulma of a sudden have siblings, and interplanetary travel has been a thing for a long time.
