I also believe that because DBS Broly flashback showed him being young in his first form. Also, Kuriza exists and he too seems to be born in his first form with the other being a transformation.dbgtFO wrote: Sun Dec 27, 2020 7:07 am The first form we see Freeza in is also the form he was born in and his final form being his true form is because that is, when his power is at its peak.

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
Didn't Freeza develop his first 3 forms after h was born in order to control his power ? I think he would've been born in his 4th form if that's the case.dbgtFO wrote: Sun Dec 27, 2020 7:07 am The first form we see Freeza in is also the form he was born in and his final form being his true form is because that is, when his power is at its peak.
Re: Unpopular DB opinions
It isn't stated clearly what actually is the case AFAIK and a lot of people interpret his explanation about his forms to mean he created them to suppress his power and was thus born in his final form as you can see the guy just above me state.PurestEvil wrote: Sun Dec 27, 2020 8:37 amIs that an opinion?dbgtFO wrote: Sun Dec 27, 2020 7:07 am The first form we see Freeza in is also the form he was born in and his final form being his true form is because that is, when his power is at its peak.
Yeah indeed. DBS Broly showing him like that also made it seem like to me, that it is supposed to be his birth form.Xeogran wrote: Sun Dec 27, 2020 7:16 am I also believe that because DBS Broly flashback showed him being young in his first form. Re: Unpopular DB opinions
Well, iit's pretty clear to me. Freeza has these transformations because he has problems controlling it so he stays in his final form (what you call "first form") to overcome that issue. If that's not the interpretation to be had, then what is the point of Freeza's statement here?

Also, Freeza says he didn't need to transform to fight King Vegeta. That obviously means he already had these transformations back then. Who knows how long had passed before Freeza realized he needed to come up with transformations and how long creating them was required. I doubt he was young by the time Dragon Ball Super Broly happens, nothing even suggest that in the movie.

Super Saiyan 3 is a great, memorable, and very striking transformation.
Even with stamina drain, it is still quite powerful form against opponents around similar level in base.
I wish more Freeza race characters were introduced.

What about Super Saiyan 2? The upgrade that’s just Super Saiyan 1 with some electricity and erect hair? Pretty sure if that level wasn’t associated with Gohan’s big moment to shine everyone would dismiss that upgrade for being so uninspired.
Re: Unpopular DB opinions
From what I noticed, people usually say SS3 sucks.
As for SS2, I think only in Gohan vs Cell battle it seemed like a proper transformation.

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
The way I understand it is that Freeza's first form is his natural form. He created the other forms because his power is so great that he must transform himself in order to control it. His fourth form is him at full power, not the form he was born in.
Re: Unpopular DB opinions
So wait... He created more powerful transformations because his power is so great that he must transform into those forms to control it? Even though that's exactly the opposite of what Freeza said?MyVisionity wrote: Mon Dec 28, 2020 12:43 amHe created the other forms because his power is so great that he must transform himself in order to control it.

3rd form (1st regressed form)
2nd form (2nd regressed form)
1st form (3rd, weakest regressed form).

The internet tends to go overboard on things, and I think it's gone overboard on hating Yamcha. Sure Toriyama did Yamcha no favors, TFS helped bring Yamcha's ineptitude to the forefront, but the fan vitriol is so intense it's just not funny anymore.

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
Honestly, if I remember correctly, TFS did not actually portray Yamcha's death to be funny, and the only time I can remember it being used as a joke was when Vegeta returned to Earth. Yamcha was mainly made fun of for his weakness and his failed relationship with Bulma, but I never saw TFS's portrayal of his death as a joke (the only joke there was Bulma saving herself for him).FoolsGil wrote: Mon Dec 28, 2020 2:15 am The internet tends to go overboard on things, and I think it's gone overboard on hating Yamcha. Well there were other stuff too, and I'm not saying TFS were unfair or did Yamcha any worst than Toriyama did. But some people just take those moments and say all kinds of stuff about Yamcha and its like, no, Yamcha isn't any worst than any other character.PurestEvil wrote: Mon Dec 28, 2020 2:36 amHonestly, if I remember correctly, TFS did not actually portray Yamcha's death to be funny, and the only time I can remember it being used as a joke was when Vegeta returned to Earth. Re: Unpopular DB opinions
Yes, Freeza becomes so powerful that his body transforms itself the higher his power gets. He says that it is difficult to control his power without transforming. Maybe "create", maybe not. But if he needs more power than his original form allows, then he transforms. His first form is his natural/birth form.Grimlock wrote: Mon Dec 28, 2020 1:02 amSo wait... Dubs don't need to be accurate - they only need to be hilarious, and meme-worthy.
For accuracy, watch subs.

If hilarity is all a dub has going for it, then it might as well be a parody and not a faithful language adaption.Psajdak wrote: Mon Dec 28, 2020 8:02 am Dubs don't need to be accurate - they only need to be hilarious, and meme-worthy.

Maybe I went too far with word "only" in my previous post, but still, since this is a thread about opinions, I am of the opinion that dubs no matter how accurate, or faithful script-wise, will always be poor man's audio, and not a good replacement for original voices.PurestEvil wrote: Mon Dec 28, 2020 8:17 am If hilarity is all a dub has going for it, then it might as well be a parody and not a faithful language adaption.
As for it being a parody, the thing is, in case of funny DB dub moments, they kinda only work because they are included together with normal, or more serious parts of series, or were originally meant to be taken seriously - for instance, "It's over 9000!" was maybe a meme for while now, but somehow I doubt it was meant to be a joke since the start.
Re: Unpopular DB opinions
Unfortunately, Yamcha was already made into butt-monkey by Toei in original DB (Bulma being paranoid and keep accusing Yamcha of cheating) and then there is that unfortunate Saibaiman suicide, Toei made fun of it in Super, and there is also figureFoolsGil wrote: Mon Dec 28, 2020 2:46 amWell there were other stuff too, and I'm not saying TFS were unfair or did Yamcha any worst than Toriyama did. I like Yamcha, I really do; but sometimes it feels like he was a waste of Toru Furuya.
If adult Goku, or Gohan were voiced by a male seiyu, Furuya would probably be a good choice.
