Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Hello. I'm new here to the forum, and I would like to ask a question in regards to the nature of the word, Incarnation(s), in Dragonball Z or in any fiction for that matter. For example, Future Trunks is considered as the other incarnation of the current Trunks, and Beerus seem to view the current members of the Majin race as the incarnations of the original Majin Buu.
Additionally, Beerus asserts that he himself is far older than the Majin and apparently views the Majin Future Warrior and presumably all Majin in general to simply be incarnations of the original Majin Buu. This would imply that Beerus and Champa (who are twins) are as old if not older than the original Majin Buu
https://dragonball.fandom.com/wiki/Majin
Now, what does that mean? Does it mean that the members of the Majin race and the original Majin Buu as one and the same person existing at the same time, or does it mean that they simply share the same inherited traits from the original Majin Buu which one of his incarnations, Fat Buu, was basically the progenitor of the Majin race as a whole? Because Future Trunks is considered as the incarnation of current Trunks, so does that mean that both versions of Trunks are similar, but are separate individuals?
Thank you.

I think it's the latter. If I remember correctly, Dragon Ball Online states they are their own being. They only "become" Buu when/if they transform frequently, as each time they transform, they lose their sanity and eventually will become "evil" like Buu was.
The information involving Beerus comes from Xenoverse 2, so it could be just Dimps adding their own two cents on the matter. If you have the game, just get yourself a member of the Majin race and pick Beerus as your mentor. Keep talking to him occasionally and he'll say something about it. He does imply to be older than Buu and even goes to say he's as old as the Universe itself. Unfortunately, when I got those pieces of information I didn't take screenshots so there's no way to post them here, and I'd have to start all over again to get them, but if you're willing to do so, just do what I said.
As a side note, please refrain from using wikia as source. Not worth it. On the other hand, nice profile picture. I miss defeating Sigma, and I would like to beat him a ninth time... If you know what I mean.

Oh. So, by incarnations Beerus meant that they're inherit to the original Majin Buu and his traits, right? Like, they're all different individuals with their own unique personalities and even souls, right? Because I know that Uub is the reincarnation of Kid Buu when that red ogre(forgot his name) granted Goku's wish to see Kid Buu in being a good person before Goku killed him with the spirit bomb, right? The word, incarnation, does confuses me a lot, you know?
Oh, so the wiki fandom source isn't reliable, right?

I mean, I don't know why Beerus talks to your Majin character as if he/she is the same as the original Buu here and so forth, so it does confuses the hell out of me.

Yeah, most likely.

"Incarnation" can be used as a synonym for "version", "counterpart". As in, "this incarnation of Trunks didn't experience the events of the Majin Buu saga the way present Trunks did". Or, "this is the incarnation of Trunks that will become Time Patroller in the future". You can switch "incarnation" there for "version", "counterpart". It denotes an entity by separating and specificating them from the rest within this context.

He's probably talking in general. Humans are also old beings, but that doesn't mean you are the same as your ancestors. At least, that's what I understood.

Yeah. I'll take your explanation as facts. Dimps isn't really good at giving clarification on these things, and I know that the Xenoverse universe isn't canon per say, but I do love the Majin race for my fanfics and etc(well, the male Majins aren't fat like in the games in my universe though).
As the great Dumbledore once said:
I know that us daydreaming aren't real in a literal sense, but our imaginations are as valid as Dimps's and Akira Toriyama's their writings and imaginations, right?
