My theory on when Goku will be strong enough to fight against Lord Beerus lol

It will probably happen by the next arc when Goku will have evolved his Ultra Instinct by 2 levels!

Level 1: Lighter silver hair + half purple eyes. (the current version’s hair is DARK silver!)

Level 2: (Fully completed!!!)

WHITE hair + Purple eyes!

Whis will reveal that Goku is now finally 100% equal to ANGEL Merus! And thus strong enough to fight against Lord Beerus for the first time ever! And so the fight starts...

Honestly as Goku and Vegeta are now they could probably put up a pretty good fight against Beerus. As to when they will actually fight, ehhhhh my best guess would be never tbh, if anything Goku and Vegeta will fight the person who beats beerus and that will serve as a comparison.

As for fighting Beerus, that depend. A sporty, just martial art fight will corner Beerus.
A death match will probably end one second just after, Goku + Vegeta nuclearized.

But I could see it happening much later on in the series when they are ready for a new character like Uub to become the main character, then Goku could reach angel status and have the same rules apply to him of not being allowed to interfere in mortal affairs.

The “right now” part very strongly implies that Goku and Vegeta will surpass Beerus at some point in the future.

To add to that, Beerus implies there is a way for Vegeta to surpass Goku with something the Gods of Destruction are specialists. So, this at least implies Beerus has a great command over this unknown technique, like Whis has over Ultra Instinct.

Many people think Goku already has. In fact I got in a debate with a couple people when I said the series is keeping it purposely vague and I was told you only think so because you are a Beerus fan lol

But personally I feel the series doesn’t want to commit one way or the other. There have definitely been some contradictory statements.

Narratively speaking he already should, mastering Ultra Instinct which Beerus never did was it.

Of course most of Dragon Ball isn't planned ahead, so they keep on stretching. This whole parallel technique to Ultra Instinct is probably an excuse to elevate Beerus and bring Vegeta along.

That said, in the manga, until told otherwise I assume Goku can wipe the floor with Beerus. One possesses Ultra Instinct the other doesn't.

According to the summary of the chapter released today, this new technique is not Hakai

First, Beerus destroys one of the surrounding planets using '' a small portion '' of the technique in which the GoDs are experts, Vegeta is surprised and wants to learn too. Vegeta is the same one who recognized the Hakai being used by Goku in the Future Trunks arc, and apparently he reacts to this tech as if it were something different. After that, Beerus specifically uses Hakai on Vegeta and only now Goku recognizes that this was the technique he tried to use before against Zamasu.

I may be wrong since the full chapter hasn't been released yet, but that's what I understood. I still think that both Hakai and this tech are embedded in what Beerus says about "getting rid of unnecessary thoughts" and thinking only about destruction

It seems like the story is shifting away from that rivalry in favor of one with Vegeta instead, so I don't know how likely a rematch is between them. I think a more likely fight to look forward to is UI Goku vs Whis.
