Saiyan regeneration ability

Post by Polyphase Avatron » Sun Feb 07, 2021 10:39 pm

Is it fair to say that they have it, although not to the extent of Namekians, Cell, or Buu?

Goku was stabbed through the chest by Beerus and was fine a few minutes later. He was also stabbed by Goku Black and Zamasu, as was Vegeta (although Vegeta might have needed senzu beans to recover, I'm not sure).

There's also Gohan's ability to regrow his tail.
Cool stuff that I upload here because Youtube will copyright claim it: https://vimeo.com/user60967147

The saiyans have a higher vitality and a higher tenacity but I don't think they actually heal faster. They're just so tough that they'll keep fighting even after taking a bone-breaking injury.

Yeah. They also heal better than most species with the exception of Namekians and other regerating species.

SSJG/God Ki appears to have some limited degree of regen but only for non-vital injuries of the body, making it just somewhat more helpful than not having any regen at all.
As for Saiyans with non-godly abilities on the other hand, I'm sure they're at least marginally above humans when it comes to healing from general injuries and can even hold on from fatal injuries for slightly longer than humans as well. However, they can probably still die instantly from an attack on their heads such as decapitation or having their brains smashed/pierced. They also cannot fight off certain viral infections on their own and need medical care to survive.

If Humans are at a "1" on the healng scale with Namekians being a "6", Cell being an "8", and Boo being a "10"; Saiyans are probably at a "2" or "3" tops.

Not so much regeneration as much as it is extreme durability. I think you may have used the wrong word there since healing and durability ≠ regeneration, unless you include scarring and fast-healing as regen, which ostensibly makes sense. However when I think of "regeneration," I'm thinking "regrowing body parts and filling in wounds at superhuman speed."

For durability: Part of this is just pure kung fu shlock— warriors in this sort of media train themselves to handle and walk off crippling injuries. Saiyans are literally built for battle from the start, so they're hardier at birth than trained human martial artists could ever be. And human martial artists are pretty damn hardy. I recall MMA fighters willingly break their knuckles just to calcify the bone to make their fists harder, and that's the tip of the iceberg.

The only kind of regeneration Saiyans seem to be able to do at all is regrow their tails.

Then again, humans MUST be better— Tenshinhan can totally outdo Saiyan regeneration abilities!
