If DB history in Europe repeats itself, I'm pretty sure Spain'll just give the masters to other European countries if they wanted them like the old AB footage. Oh yeah the US...we won't get it.
Spain has NO AUTHORITY to give out the masters... They have to go through Toei to secure the masters for distribution in their own country.

Sorry. I thought that once they had the rights to the masters they could give them away to whoever.
Be grateful the filler in Dragon Ball doesn't suck like the 3rd arc of Rurouni Kenshin.

That's like saying that just because you bought a DVD you have the right to burn copies and sell them to your friends.

Kinda but I thought that since they paid for the rights that technically the footage is their's now kinda like had the right to make Funi's widescreen footage and how Funi's old masters were given to Ocean studios for the later English dub.

Regardless it was a misunderstanding on my part and I retract the statement.

They have the rights to distribute in Spain, just like FUNimation secured the rights for most of the English-speaking world and Latin America.

Boy, am I glad I speak Spanish. So does this mean that I can get Dragon Box quality in Spanish instead of (the?) Japanese edition? How much would the DBZ set hold me back? Is there a thread that is to speak regarding this set solely for DBZ (huh?)?

There's a member on the FUNimation forum that said:
Why do you think we, in R1 land, have to wait so long for new series to be released on DVD? It's because they already charge $40-$50 for 2 episodes and we have to wait until there is a big enough gap between releases that the Japanese feel is safe enough to allow the R1 companies to sell their product, at a cheaper price with more episodes, without any potential backlash in the form of reverse importation.

FUNi will probably get the rights to the Dboxes some 2-5 years after the last of the DB GT Dragonbox singles is released. Until then, we'll have to make do with these so-called sets that are " how DBZ is meant to be seen."
So maybe the reason why the Dragon Box sets weren't given to FUNimation is to make money in other regions, then, later in R1 USA?

I own all of Dragonball on dvd, and happily so, however it's not the video quality that bugs me on the Funimation releases (I've tinkered around with settings for hours to get Dragonboxish colours and contrast) it's the audio, it's really muffled at points, which is really sad because it doesn't do the music and acting justice.

So yes, I am totally jealous, screw you Spain, how dare you have a company that treats Dragonball properly.

The reason why i have not posted here is because i asked my self why is my letters in red. Then i read forum rules and i noticed that this website wants perfect language! This is like discrimination or christening. Not everyone speaks native english, The only reason i signed up back in jan I'm sure these rules were not like today this forum is mean and i feel its offensive, Whats next are the going to say i must dedicate my time for the next 3 hours for not being accurate spelling

Well, the rules have always been like that... Just read the pages on daizex.com before you get to the forums. It's all outlined there, black and white, clear as crystal.

The rules have essentially been the same since this forum was re-opened back in January 2004, and quite frankly, the majority of our non-native-English-speakers put the native-English-speakers to shame.

It doesn't take a whole lot of effort to get your typing decently right...
If you use right capitalization and install a spelling checker in your browser, you should mostly be fine.

I just would like to add that:

1 - Your excuse of being a non-native English speaker is not an excuse. I was born and raised in Spain for the most part... My native tongue is Spanish! So you could use this as a chance to practice proper grammar.

2 - Get Firefox, it has a built in spell checker and is WAY better than Explorer.
