I'm sorry, but the CGI just looks like a typical cel-shaded video game.

I was hoping for something more like FighterZ with tons of shape keys, warped poses and other things to really emulate the hand drawn look in a 3D space.

That was EXACTLY the kind of thing I was hoping against. Piccolo training Pan is pretty damn cool, for sure, but I don't know if I can take it seriously while watching what essentially looks like an extended video game cutscene.

It really looks very budget and rushed. I know there are no 2D animators on hand at the moment, but there are plenty who work in 3D (again, look at Arc System Works) who are very skilled at emulating the look of 2D through 3D.

They said this takes place 10 years after Buu. So I think this is after End of Z? Also, I'm kind of wondering about these Gamma guys. Are they androids, since we know that Red Ribbon is apparently back?

No, they confirmed it to take place before the tournament. So hopefully the movie ends with a nod or something to Uub.

By the way, someone mentioned Granola, but the answer didn't say anything. I think the movie won't acknowledge the manga events.
