Ask the author, i never said "gay" part was necessary. I was explaining main point of joke, at least from my perspective.

The joke is that Goku Black is a bad character because he is gay and Baby is a good character because he is straight. Gay is used as an insult here. People can shit on Super all they want but can they do it without being homophobic?

Yep, there's nothing wrong with Zamasu having such deep affection for himself. He despises mortals and he cannot trust the other Gods because he knows they'd never agree with his Project Zero Mortals, so the only person he can rely upon is Himself.

Their dynamic is actually very touching in a twisted, villainous sense, since Black pushes Zamasu to not be afraid to commit genocide, while Zamasu is willing to act as a human shield to protect Black. To be honest, it's not even JUST narcissism, since we know that Black was indeed the only one who finally made Future Zamasu wake up and start killing ningens, instead of being passive. Zamasu trusts Black not just because he's his counterpart, but also because he's the only one who gave him the courage to act for his ideals.

So touching, it warms my heart :think:
At his core Zamasu is good like Shin, though I guess you could say he was so fastidious that it backfired. But you know, for this "Future Trunks Arc" you had to depict Zamasu and Trunks' inner conflict, right? If this was back when I was drawing the manga myself then I doubt if I could have done it. I mean, I'm not very good at depicting the characters' psychology on the page. So this all came together because now I only have to think up the story. [...] On my own, I doubt I would have been able to express Zamasu's fall to the dark side.
