Uirou was falling into a state of even greater mental unrest by that point. It probably hadn't registered with him yet.
That might be the most probable case.
Although, I did find Kochin's final cries to Willow a bit sorrowful.
His madness was so deep even the voice of the man who had cared for him for so long could not reach him. Tragic.
