Yeah, the spines are definitely nice. I wonder what the different colors signify. (EDIT: they signify arc boundaries I guess)

On the other hand while the contents of these reissues are amazing, I’m not a huge fan of the covers. The original tankōbon are by far my favorite (and JUMP Weeklies with DB covers of course!).

Looks like Walmart is releasing DBZ seasons 1-9 on 3 packs (3 seasons each pack) next month on Blu-ray.

No info if it's the old masters or the newer ones for the 30th anniversary.

I’d get it if the whole of the 1st 95 episodes had Kenji Yamamoto’s OST instead of the poorly-utilized Shunsuke Kikuchi replacement score that makes any purchase of Kai redundant since, if I wanted Kikuchi for the Z portion of the story of Dragon Ball, I’d just get Dragon Ball Z. I know Yamamoto plagiarized but I like that music for Kai…Kikuchi’s fits Z much better.
Hell, I’m kind of wondering why they don’t re-redo Kai with Sumitomo’s soundtrack…it’d be good for consistency with the Final Chapters.

Honestly I probably should have seen myself becoming a Dragon Ball fan after enjoying all those DBZ style sonic animations on YouTube back in 2016.

Time to show off my updated collection:



When I posted an image of my stuff 4 years ago, I had a considerably smaller number of things. I thought I'd present the updated collection.

On the upper shelf there are books from Koro-chan Packs, of which I had only 9 back then and now I've got 18 in total. Another big change is to the right - BIG BOX: Dragon Ball Z! On the far left you can see one important issue of Shonen Jump that wasn't there before!!

The lower shelf features a lot of recently-bought comics: a couple of Anime Comics Dragon Ball Z movie books and almost the entirety of Anime Kids Comics from the Buu Arc. There's also the Movie 12 and Son Gokũ Densetsu guide books.

The middle shelf is the star of the show. I had only 29 Dragon Ball tapes back then and its number has grown to 66!! There is a range of cassettes there - from the Hit Song Collection albums to DBZ Movie drama tapes. There are even 2 of the latter from the original Dragon Ball. Many Koro-chan Pack tapes can be seen on the left. Also I've got 3 BGM soundtrack tapes and 3 cassette singles with the first three openings and endings as well as 2 DBZ movie ending ones. A karaoke single from the original Dragon Ball is there too and 2 song albums from the first series. Moreover, I've collected DBZ: The Best Selections on tape and a CD-cassette pack called DBZ: Theatrical Usage! One can even find the second DBGT ending promotional tape there. And Super Butõden soundtrack. Don't forget about Akira Toriyama: The World... Not to sound smug or anything but the fact is that it's the biggest collection of Dragon Ball tapes in the world. I've been collecting them since 2011. That's insane!
