Also; those damn drama pieces are complicated to no end. The capsule effects were much better then this, but it isn't all that bad. This might be the most difficult portion of the game.
Yeah, you're pretty much at the computers mercy for fulfilling the requirements to UNLOCK the drama pieces in the first place, they hardly ever seem to do what you want them to.
Take this for example;
Power Level Change
04. Captain Ginyu attacks!
Character: Captain Ginyu
Symbol: Ki Blast
Requirements to unlock:
-Player takes instant attack, mega press or a Super Ex
-Player's fatigue is 50% or less
-Player has 2 ki gauges or less
-Player moves or do nothing
Honestly....

Old Roper of IGN gave Burst Limit a 7.9, reasonable score I'd say.

After a few days with the game and enough time to complete all the stages, then complete them all with a Z rating and play some online battles, I can say that this is a pretty fun game, and a good start with DBZ on the next gen consoles. Due to the lack of characters it feels s lot like a Shin Budokai game, or maybe even Budokai 1, although this is not necessarily a bad thing.
The graphics are excellent and the cutscenes look very close to the anime without being ridiculously long. The control method is very button-bashy, but there are a few skillful moves you can learn to pull off. It's not a very clever fighting game, but if you've played the Budokai games, you know what to expect. It won't take long to finish, but with the online mode you'll have a bit of replay value. It looks like this game will need a few sequels before it's as good as the more recent PS2 efforts, but it's worth picking up if you're a DBZ fan.
Roll on Burst Limit 2

I picked the game up (US Version) yesterday and to my complete and near heart attack inducing shock... the US intro has the Japanese vocals!
So....why couldn't they do this on any of the other games?

They needed true next-gen power.

Is that real?!
Well, yeah

But the worst part is you have to fulfill ALL of those conditions at the SAME TIME to unlock the drama piece, you're at the computers mercy completely.

I honestly think it has something to do with the season sets being popular and them having the original music.
Or, maybe they just stopped giving a shit about changing the music for no reason at all, I mean it's not like the games had Falcouner music.
Also, the SSJ Goku vs Freeza Fight in this game rules all, and looks amazing.
I just wish you could pick the music in Versus, cause the SSJ Goku theme rules and I want to here it again without having to replay that level over and over, even though I plan on doing that anyway. Also Sean Schemmel proves he is a good Goku in this game, I only wish his inflection and pronunciation was this good on the show.

Accoriding to ps3fanboy the best selling chart of games in Japan was
1. Dragon Ball Z Burst Limit (PS3)
2. Fushigi no Dungeon (Wii)
3. Wii Fit (Wii)
4. Mario Kart Wii (Wii)
5. Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu Portable 3 (PSP)
6. Yamamura Misa Suspense (DS)
7. Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G (PSP)
8. Ninja Gaiden II (360)
9. Family Trainer: Athletic World (Wii)
10. Valhalla Knights 2 (PSP)
This was ofcourse prior to the release of MGS4. But still, I feel good knowing Japan still loves Dragonball.

Tell me about it!
The drama pieces in that fight are absolutely fantastic and beat every other in the game and the music is amazing.

Yup. The previous generations of US consoles couldn't support the power of Kageyama's vocals.

Does anyone know if it is possible to rip music from a Xbox360 game, cause that SSJ Goku theme rules.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=YWy5egxlHek Found it.
While it's cool hearing "Son Goku" in english and all, that whole speech...that's not the original Japanese script is it? I thought the whole "I am the hope of the universe, the light in the darkness, the answer to all living blah blah blah I am the CREATURE IN THE NIIIIGHT~" was the direct translation, and the "Ally to good, nightmare to you!" is what they used in place of "I am Super Saiyan Son Goku!!" for the dub. I assumed the vast majority of the script for this game was exactly how the original script was, did they change a few things, to those've you who know the Japanese script in and out?

Thats hands down the best performance I've ever heard from Schemmel, too bad Linda Young's "Freeza" ruins it, she sounds just as terrible as she did from day one.
For fun here's how Schemmel did it in Budokai 1:
Part one
Part two
Part three
Part four
Part five

*edit*Just for kicks here's the end of the Freeza fight as done in Budokai 1

Wow, she hasn't changed at all.
"What? What are
YoU!?"
Really Funimation?
But Schemmel is now in a league of his own, in a good way. That's the single best performance out of him ever. Period. He should have re-dubbed season 3...

You can't expect much out of her, she is Chris Sabat's grandmother after all

Agreed, he did a great job, he's improved a great deal since and you can see it, I think the only way Funimation could ever salvage Freeza is by firing Linda Young, and it's much too late for that.

Sadly I don't have the game but I've been watching Vids on YT...Schemmel was AMAZING!!! I was watching the cut scenes and just amazed at how great he was doing. That's why I love the Video games, you get to hear lines more acurate to the original by the ENG Voice Actors. Though I have to agree with you guys on Linda Young...But I've always liked her...I liked her in the TV series and on past Video Games...HOWEVER in this game. She seemed very off.
But what a surprise...Kaio-Ken pronounced correctly...HIP HIP HORRAY!!! HIP HIP HORRAY!!! HIP HIP HORRAY!!!
Just wished he pronounced "Son" correctly. More of an "o" sound. But oh well, I can live with it.

I still haven't seen the video where he says "Son Goku." Did I miss the link somewhere?
