Funi spelling changes

A couple of years ago, while they were dubbing Kai TFC, Funi made the decision to drop their "Vegito" spelling and switch to "Vegetto".

Have they made any other spelling/name changes since then or is that the only one?

This ties in with the era of Shueisha seemingly stepping in to mandate name spellings, but FUNimation announced Vermoud as... well, Vermoud (alongside the voice cast announcement) before changing it to "Belmod" in the actual show, right?

Simmons used "Broli" in the original DVD releases, which I believe has since been altered to "Broly"; that's subtitles-only, but still feels relevant.

Didn't Toei mandate Funimation names and spellings to start being used in official subtitles or something?

I know the Dragon Ball crossover from Dr.Slump used Shenron and Flying Nimbus in the subtitles on Tubi

Yeah, for better or for worse we have seen a shift in recent years towards Japan embracing Funimation's dub terms and spellings.

Not only were Funimation's spellings enforced in Crunchyroll's Super simulcast, but in 2019 the 57th edition of the prize fair in Tokyo dropped the "Gokou" spelling (which Japan had retained even when it was changed overseas) to "Goku":

Moreover, the order catalogue forms for the following year also used "Goku":

They even dropped "Son" for May's Wafer Stickers, although currently the official Dragon Ball site keeps it but follows it up with "Goku".

I do think it will be sad to see the original terms and spellings go. While they may be more familiar and marketable there was never any reason for them to be changed.
