That movie is by far the most beautiful piece of media I have ever been exposed to. Bar none. (Talking about Japanese version with subtitles).
I got so attached to Senna, and it was so sad to see her go.
And Kenpachi is still a bad ass.

Yeah, I just got back a few hours ago. I must agree, it is a good movie. The animation/art was very good, and the story was solid(Well, as good as fillers go). Also, the ending theme is my new favorite.
Although I must say, I am NOT a big Bleach fan. I've read the first couple volumes of the manga, and seen a handful of the anime. I know enough to get the general story, and I wouldn't have seen the movie if it weren't free.

The original Yu-Gi-Oh manga, where there's a new game every issue, is freaking excellent. When the cards took over, I lost interest.

Exactly. But I still have loads of cards, and a Deck. It's superhero themed.

Fanart's my gig. I draw Dragon Ball probably even more than I watch the show or read the manga.
I however don't go out of my way to collect items. The only DB thing that I go slightly out of my way for is the manga. I do consider myself a hardcore fan, but even though if you look at my room, there's nothing that states it.
One thing that I'll probably get flamed for is my hatred of cosplay, and it seems that I'm the only anime fan that deems it "uncool" to throw on a badly made costume and impersonate my favorite character from my favorite show. I don't know why a group of teens and adults deemed it nessicary to indulge in childhood fantasies and impersonate their favorite characters from any series, not only anime.
BUT......Even though I hate cosplay, the notorious cosplay hater will admit that there are some really awesome costumes out there. I look at cosplay solely for the art aspect of it. I admire the craftsmanship of costumes, but on the contrary, I condemn the act of sporting them at conventions and other public gatherings like such. I said that once before and I got flamed by some crazed cosplay lovers on these very boards.
Sheesh!

Zephyr wrote:And that's to say nothing of how pretty much impossible it is to capture what made the original run of the series so great. I'm in the generation of fans that started with Toonami, so I totally empathize with the feeling of having "missed the party", experiencing disappointment, and wanting to experience it myself. But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.
