I assume you mean in canon, because if you put movies/specials/GT in the attention there's plenty of giant opponents in DB (Dr. Wheelo, Slug, Metal Cooler's Core, Janemba, Hirudegarn, Luud, Baby and some Shenrons)

"Canon" hardly passes in my mind, as it's a concept that doesn't exist in this franchise, though I must admit that when I submitted that post, the only ones that came to mind were Piccolo, Oozaru Vegeta, and Hirudegarn.

I don't remember Movie 2 and Movie 4 events at all. There was no actual fight against giant Cooler as far as I can remember. There was barely a fight against Janemba, prior to transforming into Super Saiyan 3, Goku was just being trashed around and after transforming he quickly defeated him. I don't remember the fight against Luud, but I should have remembered Golden Oozaru Baby Vegeta.

Still, I'd say a battle against a giant is in order, we did get one recently against Oozaru Cumber, but because the anime is short, the fight was even shorter.

The issue is where he is aiming his work and where Shueisha is aiming said work. Far, far worse is done in 18+ comics but the decision to aim this content at the child crowd is just bad.

DB has said and shown far worse so this alleged scene is child's play at best. Also some young boys do think Chilai is cute and have their normal boy fantasies at that age. It's normal stuff.

In the case the scene is simply Beerus in passing mentioning Cheelai is beautiful then I don't think that counts as sexual harassment. I'd assume it would be merely a compliment.

If he makes remarks that are more distinctive that may be interpreted sexual in any way, then I agree with you that it would be completely inappropriate. Any unwelcome or unwanted sexual advance -- be it verbal or physical, that creates an uncomfortable environment for a female character would be totally out of line and I'd be puzzled why it would be in the movie.

It's probably best we just wait for the supposed scene to come out first...

Honestly, at this point, who knows how that Beerus-Cheely scene could be interpreted.

Let me remind you that the censorship in Resident Evil 4 VR showed that implying you're interested in someone and that you might want to go on a date with them later is deemed unacceptable.

Dialogues that were censored and taken out - because "unacceptable by modern standards" as they phrased it or something along those lines - include things as light as:

So yeah, just saying things like "oh come on, admit you missed me a little" to someone saying they were worried or saying to someone "I think you're really cute, would you like to spend some more time together and go on a date or something?" can already be considered as going way too far.

So I don't doubt that Beerus saying anything about Cheely being cute and allowed to stay here as much as she wants would already be considered too much by some people, but I don't think they'll go as far as needing to delete the scene in any country.

If anything, that scene would be a confirmation that Goku and Bulma hadn't seen each other, and with this movie not acknowledging the manga, we can presume that the last time they saw each other (on-screen, as far as we can tell) was in Movie 1. Which would then corroborate to that famous exchange between them prior to the tournament (about not seeing each other for five years).

One less little headache for those who likes the details.

Because, again, it smacks of casual misogyny for a man to say that to someone, especially right out of the blue.

Toriyama could just not write dialogue like this. The production crew of the movie could just not include this dialogue in the movie. Shueisha could insist on more appropriate dialogue for the movie. But they don't, hence the criticism.

Man I agree that too much political correctness has sucked the fun out of so many things in our society today.

It all goes back to the intention of the social interaction. There's clearly a fine line between sexual harassment i.e. catcalling and just plain flirting...
