Dragon Ball Z set to air on Azteca 7 in Mexico

Good news for fans in Mexico
MEXICO: AZTECA 7 ANNOUNCES THE BROADCASTS OF DRAGON BALL Z AND THE KNIGHTS OF THE ZODIAC

By Albert Cardozo on 7.18.22

As of this Sunday (17), the Mexican channel Azteca 7 is already announcing through some promotions that two classic anime from Toei Animation, Dragon Ball Z and The Knights of the Zodiac , will soon hit its screens , although without announcing the premiere date and time of broadcast by the moment.

In the case of Dragon Ball Z , its broadcast is unprecedented for a TV Azteca family channel, because the entire franchise created by Akira Toriyama has been broadcast only on Mexican television on the screens of Channel 5 , owned by Televisa , which last gave a franchise title in May 2022.

On the other hand, Los Caballeros del Zodiaco already has more "familiarity" with the Ajuzco network, since it premiered in 1992 on Channel 13 of Inmevisión, later owned by TV Azteca (and currently known as Azteca Uno), for years after being broadcast again in 2005 by Azteza 7, with the original openings and endings now dubbed into Latin Spanish.

Estimating that they will be broadcast now in the HD format distributed by Toei, it has not been announced when they will arrive, but it is expected that their premiere will be soon in the programming.

HD, eh? This part intrigues me. I'm wondering what video masters they'll use. Will it be the original Mexican video masters, but with some upscaling? Or will it be new masters provided by Toei, or perhaps Crunchyroll (the latter of which is not out of the question, given that the Latino Spanish dub of Kai was produced with Crunchyroll's--then still FUNimation's--video masters).
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

Ah, this is what happens when I have zero contacts from the latin american DB community, I have to find out about such things here.

This comes up as surprising as there are only two TV stations in mexico: Televisa and TV Azteca and the one that used to air DB was Televisa, not TV Azteca (they had sailor moon)

Have you confirmed if it is not DB Kai instead of DBZ?

No idea

PS I dont use twitter either
