New Ginyu?
I'm going to throw this question out there, even though I'm not sure if anyone can answer it yet. I'm trying to collect the entire dragonball series on DVD, and I'm wondering if Funimation plans on re-releasing the two Ginyu discs. From what I understand they had several problems (censorship, unsynched video, and the use of dub names etc)
So is it worth waiting to see whether these two discs will see a new release?

Well, they still haven't been released in a box yet, though I don't know if they'll be redone when that happens. I have the original discs, and they're not quite as horrid as they're made out to be. The only "censorship" is the fact the Assault volume had naked Gokuu censored on the dub video track; the Japanese video is completely uncut, but the dub has at least that one edit.
I don't know what you mean by "unsynched video", unless you're referring to the fact that Assault had separate video tracks for each audio. (And that was kind of necessary, because the dub hadn't yet synched up the episodes at that point.)
But ehh, if they never get redone, the current ones are better than nothing. The actual episode content is still fully intact, and the translations are still great, in spite of a few name changes. They're only about $10 each, anyway.
Although, I just realized... Since the beginning of Season Three still hadn't synched up to the Japanese episodes, maybe these will get redubbed too, and it could warrant a rerelease of these volumes.

If they did it would be one of the last Dragonball related DVDs ever made by Funi in order to continue milking the cash cow.

Even if they did do it... and as awful as those two discs are... would you really spend another 30-50 bucks on them? (Unless you didn't buy the originals in the first place).

I was under the impression that they had fired Dale Kelly (season 3 Ginyu) because of how much he sucked as a voice actor. Brice Armstrong(DB narrator) is used as Ginyu in the videogames, and you really cant tell much of a difference between the two. Still nothing will beat Richard Newman 's season 2 Ginyu.
Woah, I just got way off topic there.

Thanks everyone for your input, I'm still undecided.
I was just hoping that Funimation would re-do those two discs, since they really don't fit in with all the DVD's past that point. If they never are going to be re-released, I guess I would buy them as they are. But I'd feel pretty stupid if I bought them now, and then after a few months they really did re-master them.
Besides, I seem to remember awhile ago somebody said that the Trunks saga and the Ginyu saga were going to be "Re-authored". Is that the same thing?

From what I understand, reauthoring is essentially rewriting the content, instead of just reproducing the old verison of the discs. I don't think it necessarily implies anything about adding new content, but it may be a possibility in this case.
