April is probably the earliest the new series will start. For the sake of the staff I would prefer October 2023, though.

If the anime was to debut in April 2023, I'd imagine an announcement well before Jump Festa this year. But honestly, if the anime is coming back next year, I'd rather it be later than sooner.JulieYBM wrote: Thu Aug 18, 2022 5:02 pm April is probably the earliest the new series will start. *Tin foil hat on*
I think the decision for the DBS manga to take a break in September was so that Toei could announce in September that the anime is coming back next year and not overshadow the release of the next chapter and the beginning of the new arc for the manga. Then they could use Jump Festa to provide a PV for the DBS 2.0.

I’m about to destroy my tin foil hat if we don’t get an announcement in the next couple of months.
Could you link the interview where he said this? That’s actually solid proof of the manga getting adapted into the anime.FortuneSSJ wrote: Thu Aug 18, 2022 4:42 pm - Toyotaro said in the future the new manga forms will appear in the games. Just like any other manga franchise, that doesn't happen until it gets animated. Same reason why he didn't have nothing of the Moro arc outside of the manga.

A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

With Dai almost over I'm not surprised. We'll see what happens.

Chikashi Kubota (Super Hero’s Animation director) confirms he’ll be back on future "Dragon Ball Projects".

Dragon Ball was always a kid series and fans should stop being in denial.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Not too surprising considering how much he seemed to enjoy working on the last two movies. I do wonder how that will factor in considering a third season of One-Punch Man (from a third production team!) is happening but Kubota still drew the key visual for it.Neo-Makaiōshin wrote: Tue Aug 23, 2022 10:44 am Chikashi Kubota (Super Hero’s Animation director) confirms he’ll be back on future "Dragon Ball Projects".

Seems like Dragon Ball has TWO anime projects, according to leaks (none of them is a movie). If that's true, I wonder what the other project would be.

Can haz Ishitani Megumi directed remake of the series?
A Jako OVA might be a little too late but who the heck knows? Maybe the secondary project is an extended edition of Broli?

A Jaco TV special makes sense if the anime is going to adapt the Galactic Patrol Prisoner arc. I love the Jaco manga and I’ve wanted an adaptation ever since I first read it back in 2014.

I'd love a continuation of Super and a Dragon Ball remake. The latter is extremely unlikely to happen yet though.SSJgogeto wrote: Fri Aug 26, 2022 3:37 pm Seems like Dragon Ball has TWO anime projects, according to leaks (none of them is a movie). A Kai version of the original Dragon Ball Series would be a dream come true, but that will never happen....

Apparently the Toei Anime calendar of 2023 got leaked and it shows Gohan and Piccolo, and it says DBS 2023 production committee.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I'm not surprised but I am loling at a calendar leaking confirmation of what we kind of already guessed.

Ajay's tweet:
Web series in 2023, yes. Currently in pre-production. Nothing animated yet.
TV series later. Zero production yet.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
What does web series mean? 10 minutes long like Heroes?
Is it going to be a comedy spinoff like say, Isekai Quartet?
