Bulma, Chi-Chi, and Mai.Genki-Dama wrote:Who are those 3 girls in the poster, I think the one with the gun is Bulma. No offense but they all look alike with different hair styles
Ryan Reynolds, actually.Raz wrote: I knew they were gonna pick an Anglo for the role of Goku but someone funnier with a bit of pizzaz and a sense of strength should be used. I think it was Dane Cook(?) for Blade Trinity's male supporting vampire hunter. He kinda suits Goku... well as much as any person I can think of at the moment.

That's exactly what I'm afraid of, too. Do you think it'll be as much of a joke as the Chinese Dragonball movie, though?mrkaizoku wrote:This movie is going to end up just like "DOA: Dead or Alive"/"Mortal Kombat"/"Street Fighter"/"Super Mario Bros." a fucking joke. People make excuses, but I can guarantee this is where this movie will end up. Hell, look at all the problems people are having with just the images that have come out for it. You could put all the most talented actors and actresses in the world in this movie, and it wouldn't save it from being garbage. I'm sorry if I hurt any feelings with this post. I'm just calling it as I see it.
Not possible, it'l be bad, but not that bad...I hope.Kendamu wrote:That's exactly what I'm afraid of, too. I'm sure that making Goku smile more, giving Roshi facial hair, making Bulma's hair blue, and cutting out the High School part of the plot wouldn't drive away the wide array of audiences and would probably please a few more picky fanboys.SSj Kaboom wrote:Nah, it'll be a fun, well-produced, action-packed adaptation, that focuses on being a fun, well-produced, action-packed movie and generally pleasing to a wide array of audiences, instead of appeasing an extremely small demographic of whiny, picky fanboys.

Just like Street Fighter and Super Mario Brothers. This thing going to bomb so bad, Howard the Duck will look like Titantic.SSj Kaboom wrote:Nah, it'll be a fun, well-produced, action-packed adaptation, that focuses on being a fun, well-produced, action-packed movie and generally pleasing to a wide array of audiences, instead of appeasing an extremely small demographic of whiny, picky fanboys.
Nah, it'll be forgettable when the eventual Saiyan arc film comes around. I think that's when it'll spark an interest towards the general audience.SSj Kaboom wrote:Nah, it'll be a fun, well-produced, action-packed adaptation, that focuses on being a fun, well-produced, action-packed movie and generally pleasing to a wide array of audiences, instead of appeasing an extremely small demographic of whiny, picky fanboys.
Both movies, actually, were examples of the "so bad, it's good" genre, for a lot of people. But since optimism and enjoyment don't seem to be your cup o' tea, then no, they failed for completely different and valid reasons. Let me tell you why.Victator Supreme wrote:Just like Street Fighter and Super Mario Brothers.
Says you. Titanic wasn't that great, either. "Hey, we're going to die, but at least we got a good amount of hedonism and adultry in beforehand, eh?"This thing going to bomb so bad, Howard the Duck will look like Titanic.
This is kinda what I've been saying for a long time. This movie is being made as it is in order to set up for the more impactful "Z-era" movies. The material in those are what most people are familiar with and will care about. But they can't really just jump into those without first setting things up, so they're taking a few liberties with the earlier material in order to get to those sooner, yet still appropriately set up for them. This movie will still be good enough on it's own, but its true purpose is to be a "DragonBall Z Prequel."Sebastian (SB) wrote:Nah, it'll be forgettable when the eventual Saiyan arc film comes around.
