Light scratches? On brand new dbz discs
I received my mangaUK dbz blu rays season 1-9,
I heard about the 30th anniversary edition people were getting some scratched discs,
so what i did was turned on a lamp got real close to it and inspected every disc i got i noticed that a lot of the discs have slight markings either specks or hairline marks that dont wipe away,
and can only be seen under direct light at certain angles...
Is this a common thing?
Because those dbz were sealed and ordered online but i also bought a blu ray movie at the store near me,
Same thing happened marks dont wipe away/hairline marks
Does not effect playback tho it seems
I think it happens when they package them?
Anyone else noticed this?
I'm ocd about this really sucks heh.

This happened with the 30th set and some peoples complete super sets as well. I think it could happen anywhere between manufacturing and packing. a lot of big studio releases are having this problem too unfortunately

Should i not sorry about it and keep it?eledoremassis02 wrote: Sat Oct 08, 2022 3:59 pm This happened with the 30th set and some peoples complete super sets as well. Like you said this is happening all over so if i do send it back ill prob get another in return and still have a disk or 2 with scratches??
Are the chances pretty high to receive replacements with marks still?
If so ill just keep it ,
it plays fine and they are hard to see unless under a lamp all tho the worst disk i have has a half inch very thin hairline mark but still plays
The rest are mostly just specks or very very small mm marks nothing major
I know this happened at factory because after i broke the seal opened the case grabbed the disk and looked at right away and noticed it so
If this really is that common ill just keep it no reason to go through a bunch of hassle and maybe get a even worse copy?

If they play fine I wouldn't worry too much. My 30th still play fine. If you really want to try, see if you can get a replacement but only if you can return the damage discs after inspecting the new set and swapping all damaged discs over.SaiyanLives wrote: Sat Oct 08, 2022 4:18 pmShould i not sorry about it and keep it?eledoremassis02 wrote: Sat Oct 08, 2022 3:59 pm This happened with the 30th set and some peoples complete super sets as well. I can only get a exchange if i ship the entire season back with the scratch disc then theyll ship me another new season which is probably a high chance of getting another scratched disc since a season has 4 disks
I'm from the netherlands they wont allow me to mix match from 2 sets to create 1 good one lol i wish, they only do returns so ship it back theyll ship a new one but likelyhood is ill just receive another scratched one on one of the discs...
Yeah seems to play fine ,
I've also noticed some disc makes my blu ray player louder then others discs but it does that with all kinds of different discs not just dbz
Ill just keep it so many reports of people getting a scratched disc the chances of getting one that is perfect is slim i guess

Yea, your better of with light scratched discs that work than possibly getting discs in worse shape.SaiyanLives wrote: Sat Oct 08, 2022 5:16 pmAh so your set has some disc with it too?eledoremassis02 wrote: Sat Oct 08, 2022 4:49 pmIf they play fine I wouldn't worry too much. The audio mixing on each movie/show might account for the volume issue
