Are Dragon Ball Games Dubbed In Other Languages Besides English?

Post by ATA » Tue Dec 06, 2022 5:06 pm

Howdy,

I was wondering are DB games dubbed in other languages besides English? I've seen mods for Latino Dub in Tenkaichi 3. Did the mainstream/popular DB games get dubbed in other languages? Or do they simply use Japanese with subtitles?

If so why haven't mainstream DB games got a dub in different languages?

As far as I know, no, they aren't. Why they're not? I would guess it would be to save money. I had always wanted french dubs, but would the games had sold more, more than the costs to produce the dubs? That's what companies are asking themselves, probably.

Wouldn't a Latin American Dub game sell a lot due to have popular it is there? Just like how it's popular in English speaking countries and they're blessed with dubbed games

I would assume there would be licensing issues to dub the games into whatever language.

Like a lot of people have said in the comments it's most likely to save money the mods with the Spanish dub are taking from the anime itself for example there is a popular Budokai Tenkaichi 3 mod (Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4 or bt4) the staff and modders re modded the game to add the dragon Ball super saga and characters they did a pretty good job but unfortunately the cast of the Spanish dub did not return they just got dialogue audio from the the show or movies and added it to the game so the latin american could enjoy playing the game with the Spanish dub

In Latin America, Bandai doesn't seem interested to comission dubs for Dragon Ball videogames (at least for the moment) but for other properties.

They've comissioned Latin Spanish dubs for Saint Seiya: Soldiers' Soul and two Naruto games: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 and Boruto Connections. So, we can rule out the region's piracy as a reason.
