Would Goku have agreed to kill present Cell?

Would Goku have agreed to kill present Cell?

The one Kuririn and Trunks killed in Gero's basement. Considering Goku's reasoning for not killing Gero when Trunks came to the past was that he hadn't done anything bad yet, wouldn't the same be true for Cell?

I don't think so he would have wanted to kill larval Cell. I'm not sure if he would have stopped them though.
Big fan of the characters of Dragon Ball, all of them, especially formerly prominent sub-characters. -__-
