It's sad to come here and see it has become a one-man thread. I still dream of the day when TFS decides to fulfill their promise and make Season 4 of DBZA. I don't believe that Movie 9 was the only obstacle preventing them from continuing the story. I never imagined that they would run out of creativity, ideas, and other comedic concepts. Even if the Abridged version of this movie turned out to be cheesy, the important thing is that later we would have had an idea of how things would be in the Boo arc. So many possibilities that now only reside in the realm of imagination...

IMO, it was more burnout & wanting to do other projects, as well as copyright bullshit that made them do it. Not that they had a lack of creativity, since while they always had some jokes & shit they wanted to do tucked away when brainstorming for the episodes & movies, lots of their jokes came from when they scripted each episode, movie, & special rather than coming up with stuff beforehand, with a ton of spontaneity, if their commentary tracks are to be believed. After a decade of doing the show, I get them wanting to do other things. My hope, though, is that in 2 years they maybe do Buu & the remaining Z movies. That'd be 7 years like in the series' timeskip. But it's up to them.

I'd comment a but more but there's not really a lot to say beyond how awesome things are. On Celloween, that unabridged filler episode is my all time fave. Got a bunch to say when we get to History of Trunks.

recently on twitter, Little Kuriboh has said that doing abridged work had sadly stifled what would have been a professional VA career. Which, was one of the reasons given to stopping DBZA, doing abridged work was getting in the way of getting professional work. Now, Scott and Lani haven't said anything about work or lack thereof, but we all know that things were going forward as a group then Covid happened. And now a lot of the TFS crew have moved on.

I don't know if anything will show up after the rewatch. I'm still hoping that Scott will make a video that says he learned SFM and a Buu Saga of sorts is coming. But Jesse Nowack (Nowacking) said in the Pride Video on Four Star Bento he's bringing back Black Lagoon Abridged, Don't know if it's just him, or if its gonna be a TFS production, but if its the latter, maybe things with Buu Saga Abridged never happening might shift, if it hasn't already.

It's wrong to say that TFS wasn't stifled in regards to getting professional VA work. Lani, Kaiser, Taka, & MasakoX (though he lives in England, so no big deal for him) got barred from working at FUNimation for a while as VAs because Sabat tried to sneak them into the DBZ Kai TFC dub. Then after a commercial aired on Toonami featuring short clips of Masako & Lani, Toei found out & forced them to replace the audio before the episode aired & the home release came out. The only reason we have their audio out there is because someone acted fast & screen recorded a streaming version of the episode before it got replaced on the service he was using. Before that, they had regular jobs at FUNi as VAs for secondary & tertiary voices of characters in some shows & movies, plus video games. While I think it's really fucked for Toei to have forced FUNi to do that, we don't know the little details of what was said. I wonder if they could get work at Crunchyroll in various dubs in Texas nowadays, but who knows?
Though, if you check their IMDB pages, the people at TFS & their associates have gotten voice work in various video games & were chosen as the studio to dub that Hells movie several years ago. That's honestly really good & I hope they can get more work in the future like that.

1) I did not say TFS was stifled from getting professional work. Little Kuriboh said on twitter he was stifled.
2) TFS did make a video explaining why they were stopping DBZA. They did say one of the reasons was abridging was getting in their way.
3) What I did say about TFS did happen: Covid hit, and the crew left as time went on.

Cell and Freeza having those back-and-forths was great character interaction, and we're finally seeing more of King Cold's endgame. Let the HELL GAMES begin!

But that Red Ribbon tease with King Cold in Guru's garage..... hmmm. I didn't notice at the time, but a comment pointed out that King Cold typed in "GEVO", the name of Dr. Gero's son who Android 16 was based on.

Looks like we got some deep lore coming. And Bojack? Interesting that TFS is sticking with the pirate theme, though I wouldn't be surprised if this turns into an introspective peek and we find ourselves asking "What makes a villain?"
