Honestly, Part 1 could be from the beginning of the arc to Vegeta's sacrifice since that feels like where the arc either should've ended, or should've ended soon after if Toriyama hadn't dragged it out for too long. Then Part 2 picks up from there.dragonballhero wrote: Thu Sep 21, 2023 9:44 am Yes, EXACTLY. Like, this was legit my hopes for DBZA's Majin Buu arc, post-DBZA's cancellation.
Like, I would have been perfectly fine if their plans would instead be to cover the arc in "movie form". I wouldn't have even cared if that method would have resulted in us getting "Part 1 for one year, Part 2 the following year/the year after, etc." Like, as long as they covered Majin Buu PROPERLY (in some fashion), I would have taken it.
As I've said in my previous post, a lot of the "shotgun humor" kind of hurts some moments for me. What's more, I feel like the Buu Bits didn't give enough to characters like Goten or even Buu himself. Characters like Trunks and Videl? Eeeh... I GUESS they got out mostly unscathed, but still.
It really hurts, because I think there was SO much that could have been book-ended in this arc (jokes AND character arcs alike). You're also right in that clearly their burnout seems to be going away at this point. Like, I can totally understand TOEI, but isn't there ANY place where such a thing could be hosted, or is YT the only option for a wide audience?
Yeah. With the fact that they've been doing the creator commentaries for the last year & getting back into it themselves, I think they should have enough recharged batteries to be able to do it. And, hell, they could try to do the other 90s Z movies in between the parts. That'd be cool. More content, more abridged movies, & yeah. I'm not getting my hopes up, but I'd love to see them.
The way it seems to be with Toei is they hate TFS for using their animation to make the Abridged series, as they see it as piracy due to how Japanese copyright laws work. I'm very much surprised that YouTube hasn't given TFS the ability to geo block their videos outside of Japan like they did for Totally Not Mark. Copyright has always been a thing they've had to contend with since Abridged Series ride the line of copyright infringement & fair use, so I understand the apprehension if it's only gotten more strict, but I'd still like to see it.
