Digitally remastered DVD's

Post by Kaioshin84 » Thu Jul 10, 2008 2:25 pm

I have bought the Season One, Two and Three from the remastered uncut DVD's and thinking about buying Season Four and Five. I already have the original bilingual funimation dvd's from the Garlic Jr. Saga till the end of the series however, the 4:3 ones. So I wonder. Are these new releases worth buying although I already have the other dvd's from garlic jr. till kid buu or should I stop now that I have all the episodes on dvd. I didn't yet have the Freeza and captain ginyu sagas and off course saiyan and namek weren't released uncut before. Is the quality increase of the dvd sets season four and five great enough to warrant and new purchase? Or should I stick to the dvd's I have?

Greetings,

Eddi

Just get whatever you want. The season sets are nice and consistent, but I guess if you already have all the singles then there is no point in buying the new seasons sets. It's really up to you man, we can't make your decision for you.

Unless you like the English dub with Japanese music, then the season sets are your best bet. If you just watch Japanese or just like Bruce's score then stick with the singles.

Keep going and buy all the sets, so you'll have the full collection. Plus you would have the full picture on the spines.

First off, I'll just point out these two things:

1) The original Funi releases only gives you the edited episodes. 2) The English audio track on the Funi DVD's has the American music, not the original Japanese music.
------------------------------
So...if you want to watch all 291 episodes in their uncut format, than get the season sets.

If you like to listen to the episodes in Enlgish but you like the Japanese music, then get the season sets.

If missing the tops and bottoms of each frame bothers you more than missing a few scenes and bits of blood, than the Funi discs are what you want.

If you want brighter (and a little bit washed out) color than you want the season sets.
--------------------------------
That's pretty much all of the differences between the two, I personally (and I know others agree with me) see the season sets as the best format for American released DBZ, so I would buy the rest of the seasons, but that's just me.
