Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai is getting a Castilian dub
Good to know there will be another Kai dub to follow along.
It may be a little late but they're lucky because they're likely to get the original Japanese version as source for their dub instead of the edited FUNi dub shown on Nicktoons we've got as source for our Kai dub.

A little too late but yeah, I've been officially active in Kanzenshuu for ten years

Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai is getting a Castilian dub
Always nice to see Kai getting some love in a world where Super and Daima exists. Gives me some renewed hope Ocean's dub will one day be seen.
Happy for the voice actors too as from what I've been told they've wanted a chance to dub in Castillian for a while.

I'm surprised it took so long, since there were dubs in Catalan, Basque and Galician even for The Final Chapters.

It REALLY WAS PRIME TIME for a Spain dub of DBZKai. I REALLY hope they follow France's example by making it awesome and getting rid of ALL THE MISTAKES they inherited from France in the old dub.
Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai is getting a Castilian dub
If I recall correctly, that was because Arait Multimedia (the distributor of Kai in whole Spain at that time) was unable to make a deal with any TV station from Madrid.M16U3L2015 wrote: Thu Mar 21, 2024 11:45 am I'm surprised it took so long, since there were dubs in Catalan, Basque and Galician even for The Final Chapters.

I feel this dub will happen because of Max Coming to Europe. I think this will be a streaming dub.Tian wrote: Thu Mar 21, 2024 12:39 pmIf I recall correctly, that was because Arait Multimedia (the distributor of Kai in whole Spain at that time) was unable to make a deal with any TV station from Madrid.M16U3L2015 wrote: Thu Mar 21, 2024 11:45 am I'm surprised it took so long, since there were dubs in Catalan, Basque and Galician even for The Final Chapters.

Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai is getting a Castilian dub
As this is the seventh Kai dub announced over the last 13 months (in addition to the Hindi redub, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Polish dubs) I'm really hoping this means the series will be dubbed in even more languages.

As opposed to the other Spain dubs, which IIRC slapped the old dubbing terminology onto the Funimation scripts, and in at least one case brought back the utter butchery of the Ginyu Force roll call that the Z dub inherited from France despite Funimation never having done that in any of their dubs of Z/Kai.Cure Dragon 255 wrote: Thu Mar 21, 2024 12:03 pm It REALLY WAS PRIME TIME for a Spain dub of DBZKai. Though in fairness, those aforementioned Kai dubs certainly benefitted from not using the French Z scripts most of the time...ironic considering how IIRC French Kai had an almost completely fresh translation made for it IIRC.

It's actually not for MAX, it's for Selecta Vision's streaming service in addition to its physical release.Cure Dragon 255 wrote: Thu Mar 21, 2024 1:08 pmI feel this dub will happen because of Max Coming to Europe. I hope Brazil gets a redub soon, our version that is on Max is based on the censored american dub and badly mixed, it's almost unbereable to watch itDragon Ball Ireland wrote: Thu Mar 21, 2024 3:49 pm As this is the seventh Kai dub announced over the last 13 months (in addition to the Hindi redub, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Polish dubs) I'm really hoping this means the series will be dubbed in even more languages.

Wow, this was unexpected.

Will we get a new remasterization of DBKAI on these phisical release? I hope they tone down the green color of TFCM16U3L2015 wrote: Thu Mar 21, 2024 4:08 pmIt's actually not for MAX, it's for Selecta Vision's streaming service in addition to its physical release.Cure Dragon 255 wrote: Thu Mar 21, 2024 1:08 pmI feel this dub will happen because of Max Coming to Europe. I think if Funimation didn't fix the green tint on Kai The Final Chapters, Selecta Vision aren't going to do it. Ironic, that is the one time them messing with the colours would have been welcomed with open arms.Vectur123 wrote: Sat Mar 23, 2024 12:25 am Will we get a new remasterization of DBKAI on these phisical release? Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai is getting a Castilian dub
Z Kai's first 4 episodes are getting released on Cinemas in Spain in movie/film format on June 20th. Along with the Spanish (Spain) dub, it's also coming in other vernacular languages: Catalan, Galician and Basque (which are already dubbed btw).
I believe this marks the first time Kai has received this treatment.

Edit: It'll be in 16:9 for cinemas and the series is coming to AnimeBox 'very soon'.

Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai is getting a Castilian dub
Cinemas are made for 16:9, because your watching on literally the widest screen possible, so if I was a Spanish fan I wouldn't be opposed to the aspect ratio in a theatre, although I'd hope it would be competently reframed.
But yeah this is amazing news, great to see novelties like this, especially for a show some considered "old news" like Kai.

I was was just kidding, wanted to poke fun a little, but I am glad Spain will have the correct aspect ration on Home Media then.Dragon Ball Ireland wrote: Thu Jun 06, 2024 6:52 pm Cinemas are made for 16:9, because your watching on literally the widest screen possible, so if I was a Spanish fan I wouldn't be opposed to the aspect ratio in a theatre, although I'd hope it would be competently reframed.

Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai is getting a Castilian dub
Now the question is, this dub will be based on the original Japanese, Funimation dub or an international script in English?
Will the home video versions be in 4:3 or 16:9?
Will the opening and the two endings be dubbed like the other dubs that were made in Spain?
