That's nice. DBZ legends for PS 1 and Saturn had story mode that changed depending choices. I wonder how much the story mode will cover?Bardock God of Time wrote: Fri Jun 07, 2024 5:35 pm New trailer showed story mode, it'll have what if situations - you can choose at specific points what you want to do:
After Raditz kidnaps Gohan - go with Piccolo or go Alone - if you go Alone....Krilllin follows you
Goku goes SSJ against Great Ape Vegeta
Vegeta and Trunks Father Son Final Flash vs Cell

The specification of 'from the perspective of Eight character' makes me think of Budokai 3's storymode where you only play the fights that your selected character was involved with rather than play through the whole story as once.

Oh yeah, playing through the story mode with different character perspectives is definitely Budokai 3-esque. I did notice that there were some shots in the trailer that showed the events playing from Goku's perspective (Him and Raditz being shot by Piccolo's beam, Saying goodbye to the Z-fighters before instant transmissioning himself and Cell), so they probably mean that in the literal sense as well. The branching path aspect of the story mode will also be pretty neat for sure, a decent evolution from the what-if sagas of the old games. It also kinda reminds me of XV2 DLC 6's story missions, so I hope more Dragon Ball games follow through with this format in terms of story.Kanassa wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2024 6:14 amThe specification of 'from the perspective of Eight character' makes me think of Budokai 3's storymode where you only play the fights that your selected character was involved with rather than play through the whole story as once.
So Basil has two forms (base, power up) in the game !? Great! We need Lavenderr and Giant Bergamo next.shadd21 wrote: Fri Jun 07, 2024 6:00 pm I'm on pins and needles right now...

I hope all 3 are playable
So the question is who are these eight going to be.Rinsankajugin wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2024 8:11 amOh yeah, playing through the story mode with different character perspectives is definitely Budokai 3-esque. Freeza probably has enough content for his own story mode if they're doing Super as well. Maybe Roshi last?Nickolaidas wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2024 9:23 amSo the question is who are these eight going to be.Rinsankajugin wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2024 8:11 amOh yeah, playing through the story mode with different character perspectives is definitely Budokai 3-esque. I doubt we'll get characters like Yamcha whose story mode had like, three fights and one what-if hidden one.
So my guesses are:
Goku
Gohan
Piccolo
Vegeta
Krilliin
Trunks
and two others. I doubt it's Tien and Yamcha.
Roshi does absolutely nothing in Z and Super besides appearing in the ToP. As much as I would like him, I don't see it.Yuji wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2024 9:40 amFreeza probably has enough content for his own story mode if they're doing Super as well. It's not one battle for Freeza. You can squeeze a lot of battles in his story mode assuming all the following characters are in the roster:Nickolaidas wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2024 11:16 amRoshi does absolutely nothing in Z and Super besides appearing in the ToP. Frieza also has nothing on Z, besides one battle in Z (biggest in the series, but one battle still) and the best presence in the ToP.
It has to be a character who is active throughout the majority of the Z and Super storyline, UNLESS they:
A) make what if stories and situations, giving those characters plenty of things to do off-canon
or
B) There is ONE story mode where we get the NRS Mortal Kombat treatment - we get chapters with specific characters each as the story goes. But then again, they don't really need to contain this to eight characters.
I think he'll make it in, keep in mind that he doesn't show up at the Cell Games in the manga or animeNickolaidas wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2024 11:28 am Is it safe to assume that Chiaotzu isn't making it in the base roster?
This is disappointing news. I played tons of multiplayer rounds of the last games on the couch with friends. The least they could do is throw in the old stages if the technical demands of the single player arenas are too taxing for split screen... Which seems like a weak excuse anyway. Something smells fishy.DarkPrince_92 wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2024 7:32 pm So, we can fight offline but on one stage. Someone touched on the graphics issues with split screen so maybe that's why we're confined to the ROSAT? Hopefully there's more to this.
