I know folks are bummed about the local multiplayer thing but I honestly think it’s for the best.. plus in the modern era how many of us are actually still getting together with others consistently enough for it be a priority in a casual game like this? Could they given one or two more stage options for local play? Sure, I guess but the juice doesn’t seem worth the squeeze when it’ll harm the visuals which is one of the major selling points.
The last few times I've gotten together to play with friends, I was bummed due to them not being as seasoned as me (at any given game) because they either don't have the console, the game or even care about videogames anymore, making the experience similar to playing with your dad or your mom back when no way a parent would know how to handle a joystick.
Nowadays, game controls are harder to grasp than before, you don't get then hang of them after a while, shit, it's been 7 years and I still can't get the hang of FighterZ, lol.

I guess it sucks for the younger generations that do play on a regular basis, but I wonder if online gaming hasn't replaced the older ritual of actually getting together.
I think the group party chats and stuff like that have kinda replaced “everyone going over Timmy’s house to play Gauntlet Legends and Sonic Adventure”

I think we have to start accepting that we’re getting old now and the way we enjoyed things before aren’t necessarily relevant in modern times.

And why isn't a new generation of kids allowed to experience the same thing we did when we were young? Why must developers deprive them of such fun?
It's not like kids don't have siblings these days or anything

The visuals of this game aren't really that breathtaking either, I've definitely seen better.
Well hey they still through them a bone with the RoSaT option if they still wanna play together offline.. Lets not forget we live the era where 6 year olds have smart phones and are playing Roblox online with said siblings or friends on their own respective device. For this current era THATS their four way split screen “Golden Eye”
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

A split second you can see the 'Edit Battle Title' screen and that opens up a list of pre-made titles

I went frame by frame in the scene where Goku's flying with a bunch of scenes behind him

If anyone is wondering how to do that "," goes backwards frame by frame in a video, "." goes forward

So one thing I noticed from the Story mode gameplay, the mouth flaps for the english dub actually sync up. I haven't seen that since the Budokai games back in the day.

It's probably Goku (Mid) vs the Androids.

To be fair, Kid Goku was kinda leaked:

You can see him behind Adult Goku, doing his "Penetrate" ultimate.

While the characters and effect look incredible, that game clearly has a problem with colors.
The World Tournament looks horrible with that green tint. Or maybe is a artistic choice? If so, what a bad taste.

Here's a comparison with the usual colors:

I'm not a fan of that selection interface. It's not like I was expecting something 2D but that interface looks pretty basic to me.

On other hand, the proficiency thing looks like some kind of bonus/boost or... just something to get an achievement.

It reminds me Naruto Storm 4's selection screen but it is a big shame we don't have 2D artwork

I get that it'd be lots of work having 2D renders for all the characters but I guess someone could mod that in on PC

The sheer scope of the stage effects is some truly mindboggling shit that goes beyond just the regular environmental destruction from previous entries. It makes sense that they'd take the game in this direction, and there's probably no way it could have realistically worked with local multiplayer... yet they were able to find a compromise to include local multiplayer anyway.

That's totally acceptable, even if it's just one stage.

Now I just want an option for CPU vs. CPU. Not sure if Custom Battle allows for that.

One thing I really like is that the transformation animations seem to be based on the form you transform to, while iirc n previous games it was based on the form you came from.

As in, if you play as Goku (Super) and skip from base to SSBlue it plays the animation it'd play if you transformed from SSGod to SSBlue but with base Goku.

Stage-wise, the only thing that still bothers me is that trailer with Vegeta and Trunks vs Perfect Cell in a beam clash, with the CG arena right beneath the clash being perfectly fine. It was too Xenoverse-esque.
I'm hoping these are unfinished clips that will be fixed by the time of its release, I've read a disclaimer saying something about it in today's video.

I really want to get General Rildo in the base game.

I don't know if this confirms anything, but someone found a screenshot of Chi-Chi in the background of one of the modes. She seems to be on the Open Field stage for some reason.

They better bring back the character profiles. I want to spend most of my played hours reading bios and looking at the models with some kind of ambience music in the background.

I guess she could be part of the Custom Battles for a custom cutscene

I hope we can write our own dailogue and have the characters possibly say them out loud.

Anybody seen any gameplay video where a Spirit Bomb is used? The closest I got to see was Future Trunks' ultimate.
