Danish Dragon Ball Super Dub: Episodes 1-76 are available

Post by sangofe » Wed May 22, 2024 11:28 am

Updates:
Current news:
1-76 of Dragon Ball Super dubbed in Danish are available on Dr TV's streaming service.

Previous news:
- Lots of more episodes to come!
"Vi er snart klar med de nye episoder af Dragon Ball Super! De første afsnit får premiere fredag d. 11 april og så vil de udkomme løbende derfra."

Here's a translation:
"We'll soon be ready with the new episodes of Dragon Ball Super! The first episodes will premiere on Friday the 11th of April, and then they'll be released over time after that."

-Dragon Ball Super 1-27, dubbed in Danish, has been uploaded on the DR TV App, under their channel "Ultra". They said to me if it's got good numbers they will buy more Dragon Ball, so I urge every fan to get a VPN and stream from their app/site!

Original source of where Dragon B"all Super was announced for TV said:
https://www.dr.dk/nyheder/kultur/han-sa ... ll-er-doed
"Der kommer en serie på DR engang til efteråret, der hedder Dragon Ball Super"
Translation: "There will be a series on DR sometime this autumn, called Dragon Ball Super"

There were strong rumors that it would be subtitled but I e-mailed the redaction of DR TV, and they confirmed to me today it will be dubbed in danish. The Purchasing Editor Regitze Louise Swane Heiberg said:

Friendly regards

Fantastic news, there hasn't been a Danish dub of anything since Dragon Ball Z's 2002-2005 run on DR1.

Hopefully as many fans as possible can support this so this Danish dub of Super can be completed and more Scandinavian dubs can come in the future.

This is great!

Hopefully they call, at least some of the original cast gets to reprise their roles.

I'm looking forward to this dub :)
A little too late but yeah, I've been officially active in Kanzenshuu for ten years :)

I better not hear Caspar Phillipson do another horrible take on Goku's power up screams then.
Also I hope there will be more variations in the voice cast.

What's wrong with Caspar Phillipson's power up screams?

They are too high pitched.

That's exactly what I love about his Goku. In my opinion, he's the best dub Goku of every Goku I've heard. And I've heard many.

In my opinion the best non Japanese Gokus are Peter Kelamis, Paolo Torissi (Italian), Avi Maor (Hebrew) & Caspar Phillipson (Danish)

That's true, the Italian is really good as well. If memory serves right he's in the same range as Caspar.

I've done a list of the Danish cast about who might return and who might not in this upcoming dub according to Danske Stemmer:

Likely to return:
  • Caspar Phillipson (Goku): He's still active in dubbing.
  • Peter Secher Schmidt (Freeza / Tenshinhan): His latest dubbing credit is from last year.
  • Christian Daamsgard (Piccolo / Yamcha): He's still active in dubbing.
  • Jan Tellefsen (Krillin): His latest dubbing credit is from last year.
  • Pauline Renhé (Gohan): She's still active. She could return as Goten since Gohan's grown up.
  • Kristian Boland (Vegeta): He's still active in dubbing.
Not likely to return:
  • Michael Boessen (Roshi / King Kai): He passed away in 2012. His last dubbing credit was in 2003.
  • Jørn Gottlieb (Narrator): His last dubbing credit was in 2004.
Uncertain:
  • Mei Oulund (Chi-Chi / Bulma): Danske Stemmer has not much info about her.

Michael Boessen is a big loss. I hope the narrator returns and I hope Vegeta gets recast.

Yeah, I'm not fan of Boland's Vegeta either. He sounded like he was just reading the script quietly.

He was also terrible at screaming.

So I was emailing DR and the agent I spoke to confirmed no news on the dubbing or broadcast of Super in Denmark.

I'm going to guess this means it's being postponed or the Danish dub is still in progress and there are stricter NDAs.

Hopefully they're taking their time to knock it out of the park. The Dragon Ball Z dub was never finished, but hopefully this Super dub will be and it can lead to more Danish, or even Scandinavian Dragon Ball dubs in the future.

Great news.

I love how Dragon Ball gets another chance in Denmark every decade.

I'm hoping this Super dub will be the first complete Danish dub and it will be successful enough for DR to dub Daima and then maybe more older content too.
