There's new French gameplay of the game floating around and according to some it looks like the SSJ3 Goku model got a slight upgrade in terms of muscle, but it only looks like its during a cinematic according to this tweet.

Bandai posted a begginer's guide.
Confirms that movesets can change depending on costumes (and may also be affected by equipment?). Also confirms RoF Goku's outfit.

Then there's no reason to have UI exclusively shirtless. Nice.

About that "you'll be able to customize every character in the game to fit your taste and playstyle"... could that mean we can edit Yamcha or Roshi and make them as strong as Beerus? or just cosmetic customization?

If the capsules are anything like the patora of older Tenkaichi games, then you should be able to give weaker characters stronger stats.

Sonny Strait has voiced him in every English dub thing to involve the character. It just makes more sense to me as that character is an actual Z character and it looks fairly unlikely that the original Dragon Ball will be included.
My personal take is that thanks to DB Super, Spike now has a much larger pool of MUCH better choices in order to have a big roster.

So I think that characters like Wild Tiger have zero to nil chances of making it into the roster now.

Psst, DLC

I don't think we'll see End of Z in the main game, most games like to end Z with Buu

Aside from news at Anime Expo, Sparking Zero will also be getting a playable demo at EVO 2024!

I'm actually surprised about this one, Tenkaichi at EVO, who would've thought?

It's crazy the characters we are getting in this and how well-made they look, it already crossed the line for me and I can't be surprised anymore.

Unless they bring the Raging Blast 2 exclusive characters too, Androids 14 & 15, the Coola Tokusentai, Tarble and Hatchiyak, no other games ever tried to include these guys, not even Xenoverse 2 with its endless DLCs (Mobile & Heroes don't count), so that just made me believe that they are stuck in limbo. If they include at least one of the latter two, DLC or base game, I'll be wordless.

My only """""complaiment"""""" is Whis, why is he a playable character? They keep insisting on this since Battle of Z for some reason, I don't get it, he never appears fighting, yes, he's technically "fighting" when he's training Goku and Vegeta, but we don't see a actual fight with him, so it's just not enough to make him playable, same with Vados, by this logic, for me they should make Karin and Popo as playable characters too. But having him is better than not having him, so I appreciate this (old) decision.
I simply wouldn't want to imagine my life without Dragon Ball, thank you Akira Toriyama (1955-2024), you are now immortal ~☆

Base, DLC, expansion, doesn't matter.

WAY better choices than Wild Tiger now that DB Super added so many characters to the DB mythos.

The animation there looks rushed. Like they wanted to fit all the bits from that scene in the anime in but only had 4 seconds to fit them all. I much prefer the versions from other games.

Well I think GT characters are more likely than OGDB Characters (apart from Kid Goku as a bonus) but Gill is not really a fighter. I mean who knows we might get Gill as a NPC but if he's in as a fighter; in that case what's been stopping them adding Bulma all these years and games?

It's cool we'll be able to use MUI Goku with the RoF Gi (it should have been Super's standard Gi), but I hope the eventual sequel 10 years down the line slims down on the Goku's, that's a bit much.

Gill could be an assist character for Pan, like how he was in Infinite World.

I think they do need to fix how easy it is to get the clothes torn apart, two simple attacks and it’s like they are fighting a berserker Broly.

I'm hoping we see GT or OG DB at the showcase today

EDIT: Nothing really new except we got some Perfect Cell Gameplay, Black Goku Rose vs UI Omen Goku

I was mostly joking but regardless, did he say he was voicing 3 playable characters?

You can fight inside of the buildings on the city stage.
I'm starting to see why split-screen was almost cut.
