That's a pretty neat list for sure, a nice good spread, but don't we have 49 slots left? I'm sure you could squeeze in a few extra characters onto the base roster.

Was it ever officially confirmed that the 164 slots are the final amount of characters in base? I don’t see this game releasing without certain staple characters like Cooler or Z Broly tbh.

I can't remember the specific website, but I do remember an interview where one of the producers straight up said "164 characters". It honestly wouldn't surprise me if the base roster was all canon characters, and all the DLC after Season 1 is non-canon stuff like GT and the movies. I would like to be proven wrong though, but this roster is getting pretty tight.

They were confirmed in V-Jump (and the demo for Gero), but they haven't been added to either the trailer or website rosters yet, so they're still technically unconfirmed despite being confirmed. Though since everyone else is doing it, I might as well make my own roster prediction as well...
Really wanted to squeeze in Nam, Grandpa Gohan, and Devilman Spike, but I have a gut feeling they might be saved for future tournament-related DLC, along with some of the missing ToP characters. Also, I didn't include Tagoma because I have a gut feeling they might make him an alt costume for Ginyu.

I think this list is almost perfect.
About DLCs, i think they will follow themes (GT, OG etc) this time, and I wouldn't mind.

In one gameplay I saw there's a shopping mall and it seems to be the tower that is blown up in the Android 13 movie.

You can start thinking about how you will tackle the story mode.
Will you do it character by character, going though the classic story and alternate choices for one warrior before going to the next?
Will you skip directly to alternate choices?
Will you start classically with Goku before going to more and more minor characters or go for an unusual order?

As far as I'm concerned, I intend to make the pleasure last by starting with the less epic character available and the good-old story first, with my interest increasing more and more as hours go by.

I will first go through the classic story with every story character available to see how it's presented this time, saving the best for last and making the epicness rise by starting with the most minor character before heading to more and more important characters and Goku's story for the finale (probably the most complete episode).

Then I'll do the same (least important characters first to main protagonist last), but enjoying the exciting discovery of alternate events.

Mecha Freeza should realistically be a costume even though it's been a separate character historically.

People make the argument that Mecha Freeza can't transform

Costumes can change character's movesets, just make it so the Mecha Frieza Costume can't transform

I hope it's a Costume but most likely takes up a character slot

I'll probably just watch some Japanese streamers play the story mode but if I got the game itself I would directly pick the alternate choices since I've been experiencing the regular story tons of times in video game form.

It'd be hilarious if in the case of Mecha Frieza being a skin for Final Form Frieza, Full Power Frieza would be reskinned to be Full Armor Mecha Frieza from Super DBZ.

If we get GT as DLC, I think they will probably add all seven Shadow Dragons. Making all seven of them the first time playable in a console video game.

Mecha is an available transformation for Final Form. In the middle battle, Freeza throws out two discs and hit himself. A shop hovers above him beams him up, and beams down Mecha.

I wonder if we'd get two Naturon Shenron forms - his Mole Form and Pan Absorbed Form

Don't know if we are supposed to expect more stages in the base game at this point, but I hope they add more via DLC.
I'm disappointed Beerus planet never became a must have stage in new DB games. It's such a beautiful location and Goku/vegeta spend most of the time in DBS training there.

Hopefully we get a glacier stage at least. Tenkaichi and Raging blast had it.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Favourite old DB Animators: Masaki Sato and Tadayoshi Yamamuro
Favourite new DB Animators: Yuya Takahashi and Chikashi Kubota

I hope Muscle Tower makes a return, that was always a neat stage. Maybe even Penguin Village if Arale also comes back. And for DLC, they definitely have to add the hidden Red Ribbon headquarters from Superhero.
