Re: SPARKING! ZERO - Visual Roster Checker
Roster checker updated thanks to the latest trailer and the updated Japanese website:
⯁ Nail added.
⯁ Frieza [First Form] added.
⯁ Frieza [Second Form] added.
⯁ Frieza [Third Form] added.
⯁ Frieza [Fourth Form] added.
⯁ Frieza [Fourth Form Full Power] added.
⯁ Chiaotzu added.
⯁ Saibaman added.
⯁ Zarbon added.
⯁ Super Zarbon added.
⯁ Dodoria added.
⯁ Cui added.
⯁ Ginyu added.
⯁ Recoome added.
⯁ Guldo added.
NOTES:
⯁ All names come from the official website in English, on the recent news article about the trailer.
⯁ On the Japanese website, Frieza is specified as being the Z version ("Frieza (Z)") while the English news article shows that he is unspecified in the western translation, which seems to consider that the default version of the character is automatically the Z version if nothing else is specified.
⯁ On the Japanese website, Frieza's muscular form is simply called "Full Power" without specifying that it's still his fourth form, while the English news article shows that he is named "Fourth Form Full Power" (which is coincidentally a bit similar to Broly being "Super Saiyan Full Power").
⯁ Nail added.

Re: SPARKING! ZERO - Visual Roster Checker
Nice additions, though I'm guessing you're going to wait a bit before adding SS2 Teen Gohan, 16, 19, and Perfect Cell?
Re: SPARKING! ZERO - Visual Roster Checker
^ I'll see, but it shouldn't be that long for them to include them on the main website anyway if they keep going with the kind of thematic that the last trailer had!
It was about the Saiyans/Namek arcs, so you can bet the next one will be about the cyborgs/Cell arc with all of those characters you mentionned!
On another note, now that I've seen the trailer, it's confusing: the English trailer does use names for Frieza that specify the Z and only "Full Power", just like the Japanese ones. And Ginyu is called "Captain Ginyu" in the trailer, and just "Ginyu" in the article.
And we have "Saibaiman" in the trailer (which would actually match the correct name without a missing letter), but "Saibaman" in the article.
It's harder to keep up with what the official English names are when the trailer and the article from the official English website don't match... But I think I'll change the names for those shown in the trailer, I trust it more than the news article on the official English website.
So I guess there will soon be an update of the names coming from this latest trailer!

They’re really counting Jiren without his shirt as a transformation?

Most recent games usually do, plus he is buffer in this form, with a red Ultra Instinct-like aura.WittyUsername wrote: Sun Aug 04, 2024 1:25 pm They’re really counting Jiren without his shirt as a transformation?
Re: SPARKING! ZERO - Visual Roster Checker
⯁ Names of the trailer related to the Saiyans/Namek arcs have been updated to fit with the trailer rather than the news article on the official English website. Frieza has become Frieza (Z), Ginyu has become Captain Ginyu and Saibaman has become the rightful Saibaiman. All of Frieza's forms have been corrected that way too.
⯁ Characters and forms from the trailer related to the Androids/Cell arc(s) have been added, as well as forms that actually don't appear in the trailer but directly on the Japanese website:
⯁ Gohan (Teen) added.
⯁ Gohan (Teen) [Super Saiyan] added.
⯁ Gohan (Teen) [Super Saiyan 2] added.
⯁ Trunks (Melee) added.
⯁ Mecha Frieza added.
⯁ Cell [1st Form] added.
⯁ Cell [2nd Form] added.
⯁ Perfect Cell added.
⯁ King Cold added.
⯁ Android 16 added.
⯁ Android 19 added.
⯁ Accordingly, Cell [Perfect Form] and Trunks (Melee) [Super Saiyan] have been retrograded to forms rather than the base characters.
Specific notes:
⯁ Android 17 is only mentionned as such in the trailer, but on the Japanese website, he is specified as Android 17 (Z).
⯁ Piccolo (Fused With Kami) is written in that way on the Japanese website, seemingly meaning he is his own character rather than a form.
⯁ There are two separate forms when Cell has his perfect body: "Cell [Perfect Form]" (before he's been revived by his remaining core) and "Perfect Cell" (after he's been revived by his remaining core).

Re: SPARKING! ZERO - Visual Roster Checker
Looks like one out of the rest of the Funimation dub-isms has completely phased out in favor of the correct spelling!

I hope this game will use the correct "Freeza" spelling.

Re: SPARKING! ZERO - Visual Roster Checker
^ All signs seem to point towards a "no" for Freeza. All official news articles and the English trailers have used "Frieza", probably knowing that it's the version that's going to be used in the localized game.
As far as I know, video games commonly use the Funimation English names for characters.
Besides, this new Budokai Tenkaichi must have at heart to follow up coherently from the three previous Budokai Tenkaichi games.

Re: SPARKING! ZERO - Visual Roster Checker
Updated with the latest trailer about the Majin Boo arc, although the official website hasn't been updated yet, so the positions for some of the new characters are bound to change.
⯁ Gohan (Teen) had his portrait corrected (his hair went beyond the card frame).
⯁ Babidi added.
⯁ Majin Buu (Evil) added.
⯁ Super Buu added.
⯁ Super Buu [Gotenks absorbed] added.
⯁ Super Buu [Gohan absorbed] added.
⯁ Kid Buu added.
⯁ Ultimate Gohan added.

Re: SPARKING! ZERO - Visual Roster Checker
The characters have appeared on the official website, allowing me to place them in the official order here too.
Turns out I had placed them mostly correctly, the only thing is that Great Saiyaman is now positionned after Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2 for Gohan (Adult).

Re: SPARKING! ZERO - Visual Roster Checker
Update thanks to the new trailer:
⯁ Goku (GT) added.
⯁ Goku (GT) [Super Saiyan] added.
⯁ Goku (GT) [Super Saiyan 3] added.
⯁ Goku (GT) [Super Saiyan 4] added.
⯁ Vegeta (GT) [Super Saiyan 4] added.
⯁ Gogeta (GT) [Super Saiyan 4] added.
⯁ Pan (GT) added.
⯁ Uub (GT) added.
⯁ Majuub (GT) added.
⯁ Baby Vegeta (GT) added.
⯁ Super Baby 1 (GT) added.
⯁ Super Baby 2 (GT) added.
⯁ Great Ape Baby (GT) added.
⯁ Syn Shenron (GT) added.
⯁ Omega Shenron (GT) added.
Extra notes:
⯁ No official placement on the official website yet, but it should come soon! In the meantime, characters that already existed outside of the GT roster join their counterparts, while characters exclusive to the GT roster are piled at the end, before the DLC characters (good guys first and bad guys next).
⯁ All characters seem to specify that they belong to GT in their name, even when they are supposed to belong to GT only in the first place.
⯁ Goku (GT) added.
⯁ Goku (GT) [Super Saiyan] added.

Re: SPARKING! ZERO - Visual Roster Checker
Update: characters from the latest GT-focused trailer have been added to the official website and are now placed accordingly in this thread.
Note that even in Japanese, characters are specified as being "GT" even when they don't exist outside of this series.

Makes sense for Goku, Pan, Vegeta and Uub, but for the rest... maybe they know something we don't?Cold Skin wrote: Fri Sep 13, 2024 8:39 am Note that even in Japanese, characters are specified as being "GT" even when they don't exist outside of this series.

Or they may be considering the idea of adding the Heroes variations of them. Omega has got a few new forms there, and Baby got a fusion with Hatchiyack.

Re: SPARKING! ZERO - Visual Roster Checker
Update: the full roster for the base game has been leaked and added to this thread, with the correct order seen in-game.
It includes more characters than initially announced as well as the mysterious pre-order exclusive character.
Now you know what you're getting when buying the game, what you're getting ONLY if you pre-order it and the two characters we know that are getting released as later DLC.
Enjoy the hype while browsing through the portraits of the full "base roster"!

Re: SPARKING! ZERO - Visual Roster Checker
I think you forgot to add Piccolo (Fused with Kami). He's on the official website as well as in the leaked character select screen (presumably there between Piccolo and Nail) as his own slot.Cold Skin wrote: Fri Sep 13, 2024 12:09 pmEnjoy the hype while browsing through the portraits of the full "base roster"!
Re: SPARKING! ZERO - Visual Roster Checker
^ Oh yes, you're absolutely right! It's been fixed!
How weird I forgot to add him when I did specifically mention him in the update post that revealed him and had his portrait ready to go in my files!
Well, at least I was able to correct that mistake quickly since everything was already good to go!
Thanks for pointing that out!
