Yes, but in Budokai 1 when he went Grade 2 he didn't have the boot stripes. I'm glad it's back though, maybe that means this costume detail may equip him with different skills?shadd21 wrote: Tue Aug 20, 2024 3:47 pm Accurate Android arc Vegeta
Budokai 1 was the last game to have this detail correct?

Here is some gameplay with some new characters.
I really really hope the selection screen for characters won't be like we have seen so far in these gameplay videos... that would be the WORST selection screen EVER.

I'm in the minority who loves it. The models are almost identical to the drawings, literally no reason to have character portraits for me (though I get why people who loved the BT2/3 char select screens disapprove). I also love how fluid it is with the camera and whatnot.FiReFTW wrote: Wed Aug 21, 2024 11:57 am https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oimoX4plPjc

What I DO want to change is to have transformations appear as sub-menus. Char select screen starting with 30 Gokus is so ... Mugen.
Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
Any sign of Kid Goku or any og DB character(s)?

Not yet, might need to wait until next month for them.
A lot of the gameplay of the new demo is pretty hype, though. Definitely wanna get my hands on Cell and Super Buu.

Thats exactly what I mean... I'm not bothered so much of how it looks I'm bothered that every transformation is separate, it makes it very clogged.Nickolaidas wrote: Wed Aug 21, 2024 12:26 pmWhat I DO want to change is to have transformations appear as sub-menus. That is disappointing. It's hard to get excited over the usual Z saga stuff when it's been done to death. I did think SS2 Teen Gohan looked great though. Hopefully he gets his Bojack outfit.

I just realized something... not only is Ultimate Gohan a separate character from Adult Gohan again, but Perfect Cell is a separate character from the rest of the Cell forms now.
Did not expect them to do that.

Sounds like the character select screen is here to stay. Enjoy it starting with 20 Gokus and Vegetas, everyone.
That said, Furutani (I keep thinking of futanari) said that there will be 'filters' to help players better navigate it.

Another interesting point the guy is making: the dev says that the story mode will capture many battle from Z and Super. Her does NOT mention GT or original DB. Which means they either are keeping representation from those two series a secret, or there are no DB(GT) characters at base roster.
IF true - that leaves about thirty-forty Super characters to join the roster in base release, which I REALLY hope is the case because this means WAY more Tournament of Power representation.

It doesn't necessarily mean they're not in the roster, just that the story mode isn't including them. We already know Kid Goku is in.Nickolaidas wrote: Thu Aug 22, 2024 11:27 amHer does NOT mention GT or original DB. But isn't it weird to have, like, Tao Pai Pai, Piccolo Daimaoh, etc. and not having a story mode chapter with them?Kanassa wrote: Thu Aug 22, 2024 1:21 pmIt doesn't necessarily mean they're not in the roster, just that the story mode isn't including them. Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
That's the funny thing, the Story Mode intro has a handful of shots of Kid Goku, either doing his Oozaru Fist or riding the nimbus. It'd be weird to include him in the story mode intro if he wasn't a part of the story. If I had to guess, OG is probably either the 8th unlockable chapter, or story battles based on OG will be unlockable in Goku's chapter.Nickolaidas wrote: Thu Aug 22, 2024 1:22 pmBut isn't it weird to have, like, Tao Pai Pai, Piccolo Daimaoh, etc. and not having a story mode chapter with them?Kanassa wrote: Thu Aug 22, 2024 1:21 pmIt doesn't necessarily mean they're not in the roster, just that the story mode isn't including them. Let's be fair, Cell basically dies to go into Perfect Cell form so it actually makes sense why he's a separate formRinsankajugin wrote: Wed Aug 21, 2024 4:34 pm I just realized something... not only is Ultimate Gohan a separate character from Adult Gohan again, but Perfect Cell is a separate character from the rest of the Cell forms now.

Ultimate Gohan however, is odd
Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
Interesting how the game's story is including the Goku training Gohan in the time chamber part of the Cell Arc (based on the new trailer). I previously suggested it can be a fan made story battle with the Custom Battle mechanic. I didn't think they would cover that in the actual story mode. Makes me wonder how extensive the story battles will be in this game. Either way, that just means Custom Battles will have to be even more original than I thought.

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
I'm sure Goku's episode battle will be the most robust one out of the 8, though there's a chance this could be from Gohan's episode too. As for custom battles, Furutani did say while it won't be exactly like Mission 100, you can supposedly make a custom battle similar to Mission 100. It does make me wonder what the limit to custom battles are.mecha3000 wrote: Fri Aug 23, 2024 2:45 am Interesting how the game's story is including the Goku training Gohan in the time chamber part of the Cell Arc (based on the new trailer). Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
I do hope they fix just a few things that aren't dealbreakers but do bother me a little.
1) the clothes get destroyed too soon. The gameplay I've seen has always one fighter almost naked right after the first attack, with the entire fight left to go.
2) the destruction of the environment looks nice, but the ground they are standing on seems to be made of Super Kachinko. The Ohzaru stomping the ground, or incredible blasts that destroy everything BUT the ground, even though the beam is clearly scorching it.
3) when they blast and defeat a character, say Cell gets destroyed by Gohan, I'd like for Cell's body to not be seen anymore. The animation shows him disappearing but then his body hits the ground. The same for Goku and Kid Buu and for all the fights that wipe off the rival.

Yeah, those are small things that go a long way. Same goes for Saiyan Saga Vegeta fighting with his scouter on, which always irritated me in games. He already crushed scouter before fighting.
It's not like it's rocket science to use a model of Vegeta without his scouter on.

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
Maybe OG DB will get a separate story mode like how BT3 did its story mode? Which if I recall was a handful of battles. Like Kid Goku Vs. NAM/ King Piccolo. I could live with that.
Man my wallet can not handle anymore dlc stuff.
