Re: Dragon Ball Daima trailer, October release date announced
Sadly, spoilers about the series being shared despite it being Toriyama's last DB project has made me learn about things I didn't want to know. But interestingly, I have the same reaction towards those that I had toward Super Hero's ones:I don't get Toei's marketing. They go out of their way to add fanservice and nostalgia elements, yet don't promote them at all. So I will have to wait to see them in context to know if I like them or not- admitedly the very core idea of Daima sounds appealing to me if it really it's an adventure similar to the first arcs...yet they have also shown Goku can go Super Saiyan so it may end up as weird match like GT was for me. Just compromise on it, Toei...
That said, if, I have no idea what they are even doing. Way to overcomplicate things. At the very least I'm excited for the potential lore revelations...even if Super will most likely never expand on them.

Since ADN also offers Dragon Ball Super with German subtitles (https://animationdigitalnetwork.com/de/ ... ball-super), ADN also came to my mind as a candidate for a German-language Daima release when Crunchyroll excluded Europe in their announcement. I wonder if we'll hear such an announcement soon...TheRed259 wrote: Fri Sep 20, 2024 1:01 pm Dragon Ball DAIMA will be broadcast in France with subtitles on ADN from October 11, 2024.

I wouldn't call spoilers an issue, but I do think the influencer culture around them is insufferable. The ego that people have about monetizing their personalities and brand like they do is tiring.

They've also streamed all the TV anime thus far as the original, Z, GT, Kai and Super were all added last year, so I guess ADN wants to be the home of Dragon Ball in France.Javaki wrote: Fri Sep 20, 2024 4:30 pmSince ADN also offers Dragon Ball Super with German subtitles (https://animationdigitalnetwork.com/de/ ... ball-super), ADN also came to my mind as a candidate for a German-language Daima release when Crunchyroll excluded Europe in their announcement. It's great to see competition for Crunchyroll, they can't just dominate the industry.

As far as I know no dubs have been confirmed other than English as US screenings will be dubbed, but that will be a month after Daima's Fuji TV debut so I guess Crunchyroll's dub is slightly behind.
Hard to say where the progress is at with other dubs unless someone speaks out about them being in production, although I'd assume they are and NDAs are in place.

For some reason, Zedd's "Out of Time" is not public anymore and a black screen appears with the "This video is not available" notification. Also, the comments are now disabled.DragonBoxZTheMovies wrote: Fri Sep 06, 2024 6:50 am For anyone wanting more of a taste of 'Jaka Jaan', the instrumental is lifted directly from Zedd's recent song, 'Out of Time'. Strange that the Daima theme has essentially just been sitting out there in the open for a couple of months now.

This makes no sense. Could this be the result of legal issues with "Jaka☆Jaan" since its instrumentals are directly lifted from "Out of Time"? Or something else?TheRed259 wrote: Mon Sep 23, 2024 5:48 pmFor some reason, Zedd's "Out of Time" is not public anymore and a black screen appears with the "This video is not available" notification. That's great, looks like TOEI have fully embraced streaming this time around and aren't prioritising TV deals (none have been announced, but there will probably be some, like Cartoon Network India).Wesker wrote: Thu Sep 26, 2024 8:25 am SelectaVisión is getting the rights of Dragon Ball Daima for Spain.

I wonder if the UK will be next? Dragon Ball Super, Dragon Quest Dai and now One Piece (all TOEI properties funnily enough) have been streamed on BBC iPlayer, so may be a good chance Daima will pop up there too.

Re: Dragon Ball Daima trailer, October release date announced
i'm mixed on this show
i dont like kid goku and i dont like how all the other characters turn into kids as well. i dident liked it in GT too. if not for SSJ 4 i would not care about GT at all.
its obvious that daima is a rehash of gt. its pretty much the same idea as the black star dragon saga. goku (or everyone) turn into kids and goku and supreme kai travel in space, probably to reverse the wish.
the thing that i do like is the demon realm and all what comes with it. maybe even if we will get some flashbacks with dabura. a character with much potential who was killed too quickly.
the fact that the rest of the cast also turn into kids but it seems like they are staying on earth which means its kinda pointless. there is this rumor of vegeta going ssj3 but against who? hes on earth
what i would like this to be instead of what it is is if the daima story was only the first arc and it would continue after that maybe with a time skip all the way to the moro arc and beyond.
the reason is that masako nozawa is very old and so are the other voice actors and if someone happens to them its pretty much over for dragon ball. video games and stuff will continue to come out but i dont think they will replace nozawa, shes too iconic. remember how king kai voice actor got sick and they litterly deleted king kai from super all together. IMO they should expend dragon ball and continue it much more because there are still a lot of things to explore. but who knows.

I pray it'll be screened everywhere in Europe. I'd so go see it in Norway.TheRed259 wrote: Thu Sep 26, 2024 5:02 am Toei Animation Europe will be screening the first 3 episodes of Dragon Ball DAIMA at the Lucca Comics & Games 2024 event in Lucca, Italy on November 2nd and 3rd. I know it's unrelated to this thread, but I think there is one thread missing in this brand new DB Daima sub-forum and I believe it's this one.
