Is there a difference between alternate timelines in canon and alternate histories from sdbh?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

I know out of universe dbh was doing it's thing before the super revival and so it wasn't planned together.

But for an in universe explanation

Do you think it's either:

There's timelines each containing all the universes.
The dbh alt histories were just new timelines created after we last see the time rings in super.

2. There's histories containing timelines each containing all the universes
And these dbh histories were made any time before during or after super it doesn't matter.

I think the difference is that the alternate timelines in canon were "artificial", created by altering the past, while the alternate histories(like the GT continuity) are naturally occurring.
