Naked kid Goku was another gag I never liked and glad Toriyama decided to retire it by the time Goku got a little older and learned how to use underwear, but GT is where it really pushed it for me from the times he had to go commando to watching it in the main intro song every episode.

This is one I tend to forget about (probably intentionally) but this always made me really uncomfortable to watch because it felt so awkward. Which I guess was the point, but they could have done the gag without showing full frontal nudity too. It was too much for me, especially now as an adult.

The joke is overdone and was never particularly funny to begin with. Of all the peculiar aspects of Saiyans, it’s the speed and volume at which they eat which elicits a shock? Right..

There is nothing wrong with Goku appreciating that he's a kid and fully enjoying his freedom be it in OG or GT.
Nudity is the purest form of nature, lots of classical art is nude too, and people have to deal with it, because history should not be rewritten to modern standards.
And Goku is quite literally, the boy of nature.

Thats fair, and I get that it's in character for Goku, but I was still uncomfortable having to see a full frontal shot of his genitals. And, I'm still going to feel personal discomfort. As for nudity in Dragon Ball as a whole, he gets naked as an adult too but we never see a frontal shot of Goku's grown man meat. So they could have done the naked scenes with him as a kid without having to give us the money shot.

I was browsing stinky ol' Twitter recently and seeing these posts about Future Trunks being "the Drink" they started to annoy the hell out of me. Now, Dragon Ball fans have a tendency to run jokes into the ground (see: the aforementioned "the Drink", Over 9000, Gohan's Dad, and ESPECIALLY DBZA quotes) so they stop being funny, and become downright annoying, and it made me think if there were any times that Toriyama took a gag and ran it to the ground, but I couldn't think of any.

So the explanation around the (dark skinned individuals in Paris) Call Me the Drink meme is that a dude named kobyshinobi made a video last year of DB characters being like "(dark skinned individuals in Paris) call me the (blank)", and Trunks' was "(dark skinned individuals in Paris) call me the drink". The explanation koby gave?

Trunks is the drink. When you order a drink from a restaurant, it's a given that it comes with ice, whether it comes in a paper cup or a glass cup. Aside from that jewelry flex, that ice makes the cup very cold. This causes the water vapor molecules in the air surrounding the outside of the cup to condense and become liquid, forming droplets that can drip down the sides of the cup, the operative word here being "drip". This is a flex about fashion sense and having the wealth to dress to impress. Let's be real, there's hardly anyone else in Dragon Ball that can claim to be anywhere near as dripped up as Trunks in any of his appearances, guy wears his mom's jackets and still looks clean.

Then in May, koby made a parody video of an Ice Spice song where he made a whole song out of the meme with Trunks. There is also a music video. So that's the explanation behind it!

If you mean to suggest that this means it's really not all that prevalent, the natural follow-up question is: how many Toriyama-penned storylines are there where Fusion Dance Fusion appears and the "Failed Fat Fusion" gag does not appear? I can only think of Battle of Gods; otherwise the appearance-to-gag ratio seems pretty inescapable.

There may be one I'm not remembering that you can point me towards. But if a particular plot beat is almost guaranteed to have exactly the same gag attend it on repeat appearances across multiple storylines, I'd maintain it's fair to say that it is a gag that has worn out its welcome.

There's a full frontal shot of baby Kal-el in the Superman movie. No one thought anything of it at the time. Nowadays you have people criticizing fathers for hugging their own kids.
