I think the more realistic reason is that no one knows what to do with the character.
We need a Steve Simmons' re-translation of the manga.

Her voice sounded really good for me as Adult Goku in Daima Episode 1, but as I said in my post in the Ep 1 thread, what we saw was just Adult Goku and Adult Gohan, no Kid Goku yet, which is worrying.
I wouldn't be so worried about the performance in the videogames, for all the reasons that everyone mentioned here, and for the simple reason that Nozawa (and other voice actors) will always give their best in the anime (and movies) and not in a lot of videogames that have a lot of repeated lines, so it's something natural for me, but speaking solely of Sparking Zero, for me, her adult Goku voice sounds really fine, yes, I do agree that some performances such as the "baka yarou" sound really "weak", but so did part of her performance in Kai, for me it's a 50%/50% a lot of her screams in the game sound really good in my opinion, aslo, Sparking Zero itself isn't that enthusiastic when it comes to the cutscenes in the normal story mode, so I think it was expected that Nozawa wouldn't feel enthusiastic about it either.

Now Kid Goku, Goten and Kid Gohan though...while I don't think it soudns bad, I do hear a struggle in her voice, and maybe it's only me, but in Kid Goku and Goku Daima from this game in specific, I clearly hear that she just fails to actually make them sound young, a lot of their voice clips sound too similar or even identical to Adult Goku's voice, it's not shocking in my opinion as I actually remember few scenes in DB and GT where her voice for kid Goku sounded weirdly old too, but that could be just a mistake as I highly doubt that this old woman (with all due respect hehe) never got confused once about who she's voicing. The problem is that in Sparking Zero I feel that it's too often, so I believe that now it's more likely because of her age indeed and not because it's a mistake anymore.

I thought about that too, but if she really enjoys voicing these characters, then I don't see the reason for doing that, unless it's a decision from the production, but I think it's more likely due to the story indeed and nothing more, same for Goten.
I simply wouldn't want to imagine my life without Dragon Ball, thank you Akira Toriyama (1955-2024), you are now immortal ~☆
