Dragon Ball Harmony Gold dub: do episodes 6-65 exist?

Post by inninnin » Mon Oct 14, 2024 6:39 pm

It's been a while since I've been here, but I became curious about this recently.

I've heard that Harmony Gold had translated scripts for episodes 6-65. (The unaired episodes)

Are there PDFs of these online, because I'm curious to see what they would've done this far into the show. (Whiskers tower?)

I don't think there was any validity to that rumor. Seems to have come from the fact that the first Latin American dub "Zero Y El Dragon Magico" used the Harmony Gold names and opening, plus the video masters and scripts for its first 5 episodes and that dub lasted about 60 episodes.

From what I've heard episodes 6-60 of Zero Y El Dragon Magico are based on the Japanese version too, as there was no dub to use as a reference after episode 5.

So no, I don't think Harmony Gold episodes 6-60 exist. The dub scripts also suggest that Harmony Gold ended it because they had no idea how they would edit Dragon Ball any further.

The first 5 episodes were also shown in January 1990 and rerun a month later. If there were more episodes they probably would have been shown.
Do you have any info about international non-English broadcasts about the Dragon Ball anime or manga translations/editions? Please message me. Researching for a future book with Dragon Ball scholar Derek Padula
