I think it's one of Sabat's better moments, but it falls short of Drummond in the delivery "The Saiyan prince will not fall again!...YAAAAH!" kinda sounded weird to me.
I really, really want a copy of this dub, too bad the only option would be to download it.
is it just me, or in that one scene did the Megaman music sound better than Faulconer's score?
Anyway, even though I only heard it for the first time today that "I did it on a lie" line by Drummond is now one of my favorites.

The only thing I got out of that was an odd fusion of Goku's and the strange notion that I could actually tolerate Ocean's Stage 2 Cell.
THis isn't Saban era, but
http://youtube.com/watch?v=UtfzsOYuZOE
Y'know how Rocketman talking about Sabat's more Horikawa-esqu delivery for over 9000, whereas Drummond was hamming it up? THis is an example of the reverse. Sabat was adding extra exclamation points to almost every line, and Drummond played this smooth. Too bad 19 sucks so royally here (not that I'm a huge fan of the old busted radio effect he got with FUNi either).
As for Ocean era- am I the only one who liekd it when he ripped on Gurd?
http://youtube.com/watch?v=GxsiDXaHAHc at 0:34.
And here does it again
http://youtube.com/watch?v=gf74wu1Dfik&feature=related at 4:13. Man so many memories. McNeil's "Jeice," the edit for "Guldo's" death, and "FEEL THE FORCE OF GINYU!!"
Heh, I read that chapter of the manga not too long ago. I love that part where Vegeta's all pissed about his fight with Goku.
"Super Saiyan 3!? You disgust me!"
I actually do think Sabat's delivery of "The Saiyan Prince will not fall again" was pretty good, but his yell after kinda took away from it. Drummond gets my point there.
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

It's really badly edited when Guldo gets decapitated, the place where they put his head back on is all wavy and it just looks wrong.

Also, I'm not sure if he does in the uncut version as well, but Guldo screams when Vegeta blasts him "into the next dimension

" even though he should have no head to scream from.

He blew up his head in the uncut version and in the filler scenes, his headless corpse is still on the ground. And I just checked, in both the redub and Japanese, he does not scream as he is blown up. Though the dub makes a "Bwah?" sound before the blast is fired, where in Japanese his mouth moves but no sound utters.
Also looking at that old clip, anyone else have the image of Recoome saying, "Recoome, TERRORIZE!" in their heads now?

I was actually referring to the line in the manga. I dunno what the scene sounds like in the JPN version.

Oh shit! I completely forgot he was David Kaye! I was too busy listening to Jeice and hearing Rattrap with an Aussie accent.

Ah. Well, he was pissed, but he didn't shout it at the top of his lungs.

Holy crap!, I never made that connection, and I'm a huge David Kaye fan (his Megatron is second only to Frank Welker)

... Recoom was voiced by the guy who did Megs? Holy shit man. The more Beast Wars comparisons I hear to the old dub, the more it makes me love them. I always knew it was Ocean for both, but somehow I didn't click in who all the side characters were. Though, I probably would have been happier not realizing that was Airrazor coming out of Freezer. DBZ is my greatest love, but Beast Wars is definitely second right after it.
These old Ocean clips are such a nostalgia trip, it's awesome. I really, really need to find out where I can acquire the UK dub after Ocean was dropped here, just for Scott and Brian and other little people I remember from so much of my childhood.

I think David Kaye could have done a great Freeza, He's got a great vocal range, and it would have been neat to see his take on the "sophisticated" and haughty side to Freeza.

That is definitely the best Buu saga Brian Drummond Vegeta I have seen and I am a huge defender of Sabat. But Chris just didn't have it in this scene. I think it might actually be better than Funi's dub, even the music is slightly better, which is weird because normally the music is HORRID. Also Kirby Marrow's Goku isn't bad either, normally it's too "generic hero type".
Also I hate how Toei completely forgot about SSJ2, this fight is entirely filler, yet neither Vegeta nor Goku go SSJ2. There is no way they could have fought Super Buu as Regular SSJ's.

I've never really heard Kirby Marrow's Goku before... but if this scene's anything to go on, he's
worlds better than Schemmel (who tries WAY too hard normally, and more times than not falls in lockstep with the FUNi dub mold of everybody having forced, unnatural "cartoon character" voices).
Stick the Japanese BGM over that generic shit they replaced it with, and this is perfectly listenable. Replace the FUNi script with an actual translation of the Japanese dialogue, and you got yourself a genuinely well made DBZ dub.
I actually like Schemmel, his SSJ3 transformation scene is one of my favorites, but my all time favorite Goku is and always will be Ian Corlett, he even says kaioken right.

edit - found one.

Agreed, Sabat totally nailed the "Saiyan prince will not fall again" line.
I have to disagree, though. Sabat did well, but I thought Drummond totally hit it better.
On another note, I have to say, I love the Ocean voice for "Super Buu" heaps more than FUNi's in-house guy.

I honestly think Corey Burton would have made a great Freeza. He can convey that proper calm voice so well.
