Something interesting about the 0493 PIN that we hear in the first episode.
We don't know if this was intentional or not but if you flip it back and forth it becomes 3940 where 39 is Sankyu in Japanese (Thank you) and 40 is the number for the 40th anniversary of Dragon Ball.

I got this weird theory why Shin and Kibito will refuse. They mentioned in this episode that Shin didn't like being fused with Kibito because he was too old. So my theory goes that when they eventually get reverted back to normal age, the wish will be worded in such a weird way that Shin, since he has a longer lifespan than humans, will still be a kid and so he'll need to fuse back with Kibito in order to be the right age to become a Kaioshin again or something like that. Then by the time of the U6 arc enough time had passed that he'd be the proper age again, so they can safely unfuse again.

What I said was in the sense of "will Gohan even show up in this series?". If he appears then I'm sure it will be as a kid. And he should, because it would be very odd if he doesn't turn up asking what the heck happened: "I was studying and suddenly I'm a kid again!?".AliTheZombie13 wrote: Wed Oct 16, 2024 12:00 amI very much doubt it, the wish wouldn't outright ignore Gohan and Videl when Gomah explicitly asked for "The people who fought Majin Boo and their friends to be reverted back to kids." Gohan and Videl directly challenged Majin Boo, whereas Gyumao didn't, and even he got turned into a kid. Unless Gohan and Videl are revealed to have special anti-kiddification properties or something.

I was thinking about this too. A new Dragon Ball series always has a new dragon, so we might have a Dark Shenron, who can’t grant harmless wishes. Also, the Black Kamen Rider references.Smilodon wrote: Wed Oct 16, 2024 1:15 pm I was thinking about those Tamagami guys and the Demon Realm Dragon Balls.
Tamagami means = Sphere God.
They are certain weaker than super dragon ball. But they said something about white magic vs dark magic. So, it's probably going to give more bad wishes (like to kill a god, except Zenoh).

Re: Dragon Ball Daima: Episode 1 - Official Discussion Thread
Does this episode indirectly make Trunks seven years old in DB/DBZ's Majin Boo arc, or am I misunderstanding the timeline explanation on the main website's "Dragon Ball Daima Episode 001" page?
Re: Dragon Ball Daima: Episode 1 - Official Discussion Thread
It's not this episode, it's what it has always been. If we take into consideration months, Trunks should be seven. Depending on when you think Chi-Chi got pregnant while sticking to "May" as being the month tournaments are held, Goten should technically be six... That is why months should (well, must) be ignored. Sticking to just the years is better, because in the grand scheme of things, as long as that event happens in the supposed/intended year, everything works out fine.
Another example is that people place Movie 14 in August, just because there is information stating that Bulma's birthday is in August. If we apply that to the series, the timeline may break. You will have little to no room to place Universe 6 saga and Future Trunks saga in AGE 779, depending on some other factors.

Piracy is a gray area. Piracy for some is temporary. Example: When Dragon Ball super super heroe movie first came out, I watched it via a live stream someone uploaded, some db fan in Japan who went to the movies to the premiere and sacrificed his Youtube channel (as it was taken down a couple of hours later) to show the movie. And when it was dubbed and showing in local movie teathers I also went to watch it. Sometimes fans don't have a choice. And fans would be willing to pay for something but piracy is the only way to get things. It is not the case for Daima in Mexico but in many other countries it is not so easy to get. To put it simply: there are more dragon ball fans than countries.where threre are streaming services showing daima.sangofe wrote: Wed Oct 16, 2024 2:45 pmNo, but I appreciate subs that have right translations and terminology and good timing.tinlunlau wrote: Wed Oct 16, 2024 1:29 pmAt this day and age, is there really a point in making fansubs these days? BTW in my opinion Daima should be in the movies. Like the first 3-4 episodes. Dubbed to Spanish with Mario Castsñeda and René Garcia and the whole gang. I hope someone with enough capital, time and love for Dragon Ball (and maybe some good connections) gets to show it ar cinepolis... I would go.

Re: Dragon Ball Daima: Episode 1 - Official Discussion Thread
Now that we are in the Demon Realm, I would like to see some previously-delivered lore tidbits being fulfilled or followed through in the series.
For example, I would like for the demon who killed Jiren's master to appear, although that would mean that either there's one demon realm for all universes (which doesn't really fit with the Kaioshin Realms being specific to each universe) or, more ideally but less likely, we get to also see at least Unv. 11's demon realm. I've been trying to remember if there was any demon in previous lore, be that Super or other, that killed someone who wasn't revived later.
Certainly, it wasn't the case with King Piccolo or Majin Boo, but maybe that rule applies to only certain kinds of demons.
I would also like to see other Devils (from Devilman's race), and, well, I know it's a long shot, but maybe someone mentions Garlic or his son.
PD: some of the architecture of the demon realm of Daima resembles the Hero's demon realm, I believe.

Re: Dragon Ball Daima: Episode 1 - Official Discussion Thread
Finally have a chance to share my thoughts on this, and if I'm being honest? I LOVED the premiere. I've seen a LOT of folks say that there was too much exposition, but personally? I was perfectly fine with Daima going out of its way to show off our antagonists and (mostly) explain their motivations to us. Heaven knows we would need it for all of the changes going from the Majin Buu arc (like Kibito Kai splitting apart).
What's more, the Majin Buu arc is my favorite 'Z' arc, so you can probably imagine me falling head-over-heels for this arc getting the reanimated treatment that the Red Ribbon Army and Cell arcs got in Super Hero's introduction. Like I always say, I'd love to see Dragon Ball get the 'Sailor Moon Crystal/Eternal/Cosmos' treatment, and have Toriyama's OG story (from Goku and Bulma's first meeting to Goku and Uub leaving the 28th W.M.A.T.) be reanimated from the ground-up, with Shintani being the lead animator tackling OG DB, and Kubota handling the 'Z' portion.

What gave people the idea that Trunks should be 7 years old? Goten was 7 at the start of the Buu saga and it was always established that Trunks is a year older than Goten. That would make Trunks 8 years old. Daima starts off at Trunks' 9th birthday so that would mean it's not too far off from the defeat of Buu. Case closed.
The world is your's.

I believe the logic runs as follows:tinlunlau wrote: Sun Oct 20, 2024 8:42 am What gave people the idea that Trunks should be 7 years old? - Future Trunks tells Goku when they meet that he will be born in around 2 and a half years, whereas the Androids will appear in 3 years, so Trunks is around 6 months old by that point.
- The Androids appear on May 12th Age 767. This would put Trunks' birthday sometime around October/November Age 766 (give or take). This would put his 8th Birthday some time late in Age 774.
- The Buu arc takes place 7 years after the Android-related events, in Age 774, but it is around the time of the Tenkaichi Budokai, which places it in May Age 774, so this is around 6 months before Trunks' 8th birthday.
- Therefore, Trunks is biologically more like 7 and a half than actually fully 8 years old.
Since the last usage of the Dragon Balls was 6 months after the fight with Buu, that would be some time in November 774, so for them to still be out of commission come Trunks' 9th birthday in 775, Trunks' birthday would probably have to be at least a little before that time of the year while still being around 6 months away from May. Frankly, we may as well take things "meta" and say his birthday is October 11th.

• First wish: Erase Majin Buu from people' memories - Four months recharge.
• Second wish: ??? - Eight months recharge.
• Third wish: ??? - One year recharge.
That would explain why they were still stones in November AGE 775.

Re: Dragon Ball Daima: Episode 1 - Official Discussion Thread
But by this reckoning, isn't the first wish already used up in reviving the people killed by Vegeta at the Budokai? That's 4 months recharge (as Dende says it will be) so they can be used in 6 months like the narrative says they are, but since the first wish was used to revive multiple people, the wish to make people forget Buu would likewise be the last available wish before the full year recharge is needed, wouldn't it?Grimlock wrote: Sun Oct 20, 2024 9:23 amOr they just needed to get the three wishes.

I don't know if the Dragon Balls work that way. I know that people tried to apply that reasoning for the Movie 14/Movie 15 scenario: Shenlong granted one wish for Beerus, then he granted two wishes for Freeza soldiers and Pilaf. But as far as I know, this was never really established, it was just something people came up with.Magnificent Ponta wrote: Sun Oct 20, 2024 9:27 am But by this reckoning, isn't the first wish already used up in reviving the people killed by Vegeta at the Budokai? Then again, I never understood why they would have to wait six months when Dende said they would be okay for use in four months. Unless I'm missing something. I also don't think that the wish to revive a lot of people used up two wishes at the same time, Dende tells Goku that they won't need the "other two".
What I'm sure of is that if you really want to take months into consideration, placing Majin Buu saga in May as well as the wish to erase people's memories in November, then you must assume that they used up the other two wishes for something else, otherwise you can't have Dragon Ball Daima taking place in November. Thank Dende I don't consider months, so I don't have to deal with any of this. All I know is that Trunks is turning nine, which means there is a timeskip to AGE 775, and that's all I need to know.

Finally had time to watch an episode. So far so good, but Dende looks like he did in the Namek arc, he should be taller.

Even in BOG I recall this being the case. As someone said here, Toriyama was all over the place with how Dende past Namek should look, it's strange.FoolsGil wrote: Wed Oct 30, 2024 10:48 pm Finally had time to watch an episode.
